Gents,

Dug this up to let the good times roll rather then starting a new thread.

Since we were last discussing, I picked up some headers and I'm having them installed over the weekend. So far my mods are:

180mm pulley
tune
headers
stock H/E

Here's the situation, originally I started this thread because I thought I should be making more power. I have since replaced my pump. My mechanic said that the dealer has new upgraded pumps that are apparantly "high efficiency" ones, also Bosch brand. Since I replaced the pump I've been running strong.

In an effort to absorb some knowledge, how much will an upgraded H/E help? Now it may seem like a stupid question but I've researched and there are mixed reviews.

My driving habits are some spirited runs on the freeways. I dont think I've ever been over 120mph and I rarely do back to back heavy duty runs. Can I get away with the stock H/E and a new "upgraded" pump?

As always, your advice is appreciated!

Haters crazy
Your running a 180 pulley with stock cooling!? Brave man...

I have only a 168 Kleeman, and my iats were sky high...

I suggest, a new pump (new bosch or cm30 pump, wire to run constantly, new HE (EC one is good), and split the cooling!) I can guarantee you will put down more numbers, and actually feel a difference!

I agree.. 180mm pulley without any cooling, other then a ic pump that you think is working? Is it a CM30? If not I would start with that its really cheap and easy to install.

You really need some serious cooling to be running a pulley that size. You need heat exchanger and a ic pump at the very least even if it were stock IMO. The stock IC cooling system is just not up to the task on our cars.

Also, making power pulls on a 55k without significant cool down before and in between runs can make a huge difference in power output on the dyno.

E55 AMG
upgrade your HE and do split cooling and wire your pump to run all the time and you will notice a HUGE difference

In short my friend?

You need to get:

- Meziere IC pump WS136P with its 3/4 in fittings for both sides
- Bigger HE (PLM, Eurcharged, Frozenboost, customized by you, double stock as one of the guys did here before, etc...) but you really need bigger HE.

That's it, and one more thing, you will need to re-dyno to check your AFR and IAT again and have a close look on your power then to see the difference

One more thing to add from personal point of view:

Stay away from Johnson pump, it is so small and flow is almost same as stock Bosch pump. Get better pump, I recommend Meziere, I have used the 3 on my car and I can confidently say Meziere. I live in very hot area and I know what I am saying.

^ HUH?? Abu Dhabi hot? Bro you're tripping.

Thank you guys for the bountiful advice; it looks like I will be getting that H/E installed along with the headers.

I'm amped!

No, I lied .. Abu Dhabi is just cold as Alps mountains.

If you saw weather report for temperature on internet for Abu Dhabi these days, don't believe them, they lie too much .

Good luck my friend with your new coming mods .
