Might be selling the E63. :(

Let me start out by saying that I love my E63, but it may be up for sale when I return to the U.S. from my vacation down here in Mexico. Without going into details, my mother has not been well, and accordng to the phone call from my family this morning, I may need to ditch the E63 quickly in order to help her get the medical attention she needs. So, if I do have to sell it quickly, does anyone have a recommendation as to the best outlet to get a fair price for the car? If this all goes down, I will not have a whole lot of time to do the haggling with people to get top dollar for my car, so I would just be looking for fair deal for both sides and call it a day. Are there outlets out there like that, or do I have to resign myself to the fact that haggling is in my future?

Thanks everyone. I appreciate any constructive information on places to go if this indeed happens.

I'm very sorry to hear the news. You're in Indy, right? I'm down on the south side and would be willing to help out anyway I can. There is a CarMax on 96th street. I know they would make you an offer, but it might not be very good. Possibly Chris or Paul (owner) at Worldwide Motors would know of something. I can PM their emails if you think it is worth a shot or I can contact them for you.

Thank you. Please send their information over to me. I would rather sell to Worldwide Motors if I have to because at least they would know that all services are up to date on my car. I appreciate your help.

Very sorry to hear about your situation, my best wishes to you and your family.
You, out of all people on this board I'd expect to be one of the last to sell their w211. Good luck and I'm sure you'll be back!

Can't do that. The E63 is worth almost twice as much as my NSX right now, so the NSX being sold is not an option.

Just got the notice a bit ago....cutting the vacation short and coming home on the earliest flight home tomorrow. So, if anyone knows someone looking for an E63....it will be for sale by Monday.

Thank you. I appreciate the well wishes from you and the other people on here too. But it is not looking too great right now. The way things look, the E63 and some other items of value will be on the market Monday.

Hey Mitch, I was thinking maybe if you post up the details on your "E" we can get the good folks of this forum to help you come up with a reasonable price to start out at.

I unfortunately am no expert when it comes to valuing a car for sale so no help here.

Nope. Those threads never go well, and I do not have the energy to go through the grilling of people battling about a car and its 'worth'. It will already be tough enough on me to sell it, the last thing I need is to get ticked off. Go look at chawkins for sale thread for his car and you will see what I am talking about. Thank you for the idea though. But I will go another route and appreciate any suggestions on a sale route other than this forum.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I hope it all goes okay with your family and your Mom.

You'll take a hit of course if you need to sell quickly to raise cash. But have you thought of taking out a personal loan instead? The interest rates are pretty decent now and the interest over time would be less than the depreciation of the car and/or the hit you'd take. Then you could rest easy and sell the car slowly later for a better price. Just a suggestion.

On the other hand, if you really need a quick no hassle sale then find a broker to sell it for you and let them take their commission. I've done that in the past and it works fine and is usually pretty quick. A lot of brokers have potential clients all over the place and overseas, too.

Good luck and hang in there.

I hear ya. sucks though... we should be helping each other out on this forum and for the most part do. We all know whos advice can be trusted, but you would have to weed through the crap too.
