I say no -- too much heat -- its not a hair dryer heat -- its a hot cooking pan heat -- thus tape will not reflect this kind of heat... thats what my logic tells me

here's the deal, first off the air in the airboxes isn't there long enough to absorb any of the ambient underhood heat. Besides Air is a great insulator. If you'd like to see the temp differential get yourself one of These put one temp probe ahead of the supercharger after the throttle body and one near the stock OAT sensor and see what the temp differential is. I'll give you a hint in steady state driving it will be in the 5F range...

Gold Foil is a fantastic insulator and it's used in race cars to protect body work or to provide a thermally stable zone

good point - the air is not in the airboxes very long -- but lets say it helps and it helps alot -- the air still needs to travel through scorching hot: intake runners, TB, Supercharger, intercooler, engine housing --- I am not a mechanic -- sure there are more areas that I am unaware of -- but this is just my logic

The temp rise is from the supercharger compressing the intake charge. Not from it's transit to the being compressed

I never dyno'ed this. Plus it was a combo of reduced IAT, new plugs, and oil change. Yes, the butt dyno was impressed and the PBOX was giving me consistent 4.3sec runs, vs 4.5sec I normally get.

To be honest, what helps best is sticky tires.

My F1 Asymetrics can do a 4.5 0-60 in any condition
Hankook Rs3, do 4.0 0-60 once they are warmed up.

I did this a while ago.

Even if it didn't do anything, it certainly didn't hurt anything.

And since it's hidden, it's not an eyesore either.

Thus...I ask, "why not?"
