What is the best option to lower E55 AMG

Hi everyone,

I have looked through the forum but am now confused.

What is the best option to lower a W211 E55 AMG.

Does it cause problems?

Is it locked at that height or does the factory overide it?

Your help would be great.

Cheers

Adrian

There are three methods of lowering that I know of.

1) Lowering module

2) The washer methods

3) STAR lowering

My vehicle is not lowered so I cannot comment on any of them.

There are DIY articles for the washer method and STAR method.

Hi 06E55

I am familar with the washer method but wish to go lower then that.

Regarding the modules, which is better and what is different between each brand?

What is STAR?

Sorry for all the questions.

Cheers

they sell links which are a 4th method of lowering from the ones already mentioned. best bang for buck IMO and are pretty easy to install.

Thanks AMG RL

I have read people talking about having to get the car balanced or something if lowering? Do you know anything about this?

Anyone has experience with this product ? That looks like a very attractive option for the price. I assume it keeps the suspension adjustable (Comfort, Sport I and Sport II) and lower equally in all modes ?

He already stated that he searched and is confused from all the discussions. He also clearly stated what the question was in his Thread Topic. So if you "don't want to keep reading the same thing everytime" wouldn't it make sense not to click on this specific thread? No where does it state that you have to read every thread in the forum so maybe it's up to you to show some self control?

AK_AMG here is a link to the Star Method it's actually stickied in this forum but frankly there are to many other things that are as well so it gets convoluted.

That is very helpful, thanks to your highlighted comment I was able to find much more about the "links". For example how the ride quality is greatly deteriorated because the shock damping is still set for the high ride height and you now run the risk to crash into the shocks stops regularly, damaging the shocks.

Lowering module is the way to go in my opinion. I have my car slammed with STAR with now and I do regret not having any way to completely dial it in. I will definitely be getting a ELM before spring time.

Haha. You just have to bash on peoples posts. Some people think that MBWorld is here to showoff and brag. It is sooooo hard to look at a thread topic and skip it. Why help people when you are so awsome?

Although you get more options with a module, washers will still leave you with 3 height adjustments. That is much better than a standard spring drop.

Which ELM is better and which is locked to the height rather then raising or do both have the option to set that to on/off?

This is a question that the resident di ck can answer for you.

But instead of contributing, he told you to search and then postwhored some more.

Is this the emo one you speak of. I see he runs the v2. Does this reset itself to standard height after a certain speed?
