OEtuning or Eurocharged Tune??

no the 1/2 sec was more of a joke but more traction certainly wont hurt and the .3 sec on 0-60mph has been verified by the press. so that is an advantage
and like others have said you just may have a strong factory car and the ones u ran with the larger TB and such could have weak car, high mileage, clogged fuel lines, bad driver.... basically endless variables that make saying "its the tune, proof in sig.." kinda silly
you could easily says its cuz your car is silver and silver's are the fastest because the guys that built the silver cars were the better AMG builders than the other colors![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
fact still remains the top 4 cars all have traction improvements in common with all else being different
I raced a CL55 this weekend and put car length on him first run from dig cuz i got a good hook... next run, i spun for just a moment and he got me by a car length..... going fast in these cars is all about the launch and tuners dont provide launch control that i know of
so i dont think its just the tune

Hmm factory freak ah? Far from it!! but i can tell you i busted my a$$ for a month from the track to the shop..about 6 trips to the track lol 2 of them being rentals and a lot had to be dialed in to finally get her to run right. I thought back when i started modifying, black cars were the fastest..theres a history of that and if you look on drag times that is somewhat true..black cars rule ![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)

and yeah black cars are probably fastest cuz they use the least amount of paint to it makes them lighter

track work is def a huge advantage! First time i took my motorcycle to the track it was supposed to be a 10sec factory bike... yeah, i ran low 12's lol... eventually i got into low 10s but after i busted my butt at track many times like you said![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

I had guys questioned me on whether to join in the Tuning sessions with Jeremy or not, then decided to go another route, most of it because of the Poor service. Months after 2 of these guys motors popped god only knows why.
Theres so much foney' stuff out there you'd be surprised.

I think Im going back to stock pulley but adding a 80mm tb,The car is not as fun to drive if you cant put the power down.
Its that or a LSD but I think Im going back to stock boost until I find another renntech 168 pulley.
Right now a stock e55 will beat me on the street since my car just bogs down and traction control kills power.
I also just made the mistake of taking my dragradials off for pilot super sports in the rear, they are about 10-15% less traction over the dragradials but drive 10x better.
I think for anyone that has a stock car the best mods would be.
heatexchanger
kleemann mid length headers with first cats deleted
carbon air box
python intakes
and a tune
I was getting 118-120 mph traps and hitting 93mph in the 1/8th with those mods and I Loved the way the car drove over having a 178 pulley.
I could use first gear and the car would never get heat soaked,I remember doing 3 back to back runs at the track on a rental and trapping faster on every run as the car adapted.
I will add an 80mm tb and see how the car feels with the stock pulley and then MAYBE install a 168.
With a 175mm pulley I trapped 99mph in the 1/8th but only 123 at the end of the track(it was about 60-63 out that day)and ran my best run of 11.361
I just went to the track last week and yes it was super hot out but I had horrible traction problems from the low end torque and trapped 95 in the 1/8th and only 114 at the end so you can see how much heat kills our cars.
If you want a record run you will need a 180 pulley but the temps have to be under 50 degrees or your car will pull timing up top and loose speed big time.
Loco my car has the same problem with yours as I cant do a burn out if its not in dyno mode and even then I have the feeling its not giving 100%

Just having a buddy edit the plates out of the video and they should be up shortly.
Mods on my car: OE Tune
Mods on second car: Eurocharge Tune, 168 pulley, Upgraded HE, Split cooling, Cutouts, Res and secondary cat removed.

oh and drive with ESP OFF AND bog downs will be history

exactly those mods work awesome for the track, with the stock pulley you are about 30-50 degrees less on the air intake temps at the end of the run.
Im doing a bigger tb next and will see how mine feels with stock pulley.

Will see about the pulley,Im just really frustrated after doing more mods the car got slower at the track.
I sold my meth kit so I might look into running meth again.Did you ever lof your temps on any of your record runs?
I know it was pretty cold out but how was the intake temps? were you still over 160 degrees?
Edit you also have an lsd bro,Im fighting the torque with one wheel

I have to take a pictures of the drag radials I just took off, they have less than 2000 miles on them and one is almost completly worn out lol

Few things to mention...
OE tuned car, 3 hour custom dyno tune...
EC tuned car, safe flash via internet. (safe because, afr's couldnt not be read that day on the dyno)
Jerry is aware, and is more than willing to re tune, check afrs etc... I just been busy.
Speaking on OE tuned cars... there is one car out their that barely breaks 400whp, which has 180 pulley and NUMERIOUS mods

I have a late 05 and they did something in the tcu even with the darn esp off I can hear the boost bleeding and feel it cutting power.

I was literally spraying NOS on the the surge tanks/y-pipe/HE not to mention the ice bags lol.. i would rest my car as well, maybe 2 runs per hour. I pulled no timing those runs.

as long as people are happy with how their cars performs, I think they should be happy. From what I have have seen people get bothered when they start comparing, this is not only limited to cars. I could care less if the other persons car is faster than mine etc etc.
Point to note here is that majority of cars who are in the 10s have achieved that by doing it on 2 motors.
I know of respected members who dipped into the 10s last year, have blown motors now. I dont want to post names.

As far as that other car goes i think the 178 pulley just makes too much heat and car starts pulling too much timing on the top end. After his split cooling his cars has improved. Think he just need a retune now.

We did three runs on the dyno and if your tuning i think thats the only way you should tune. Just flashing cars with files and saying your tuned really doesnt work.

We should put all the E55's agaisnt each other, kind of like tuner Vs tuner showdown...oh boy that would be interesting.

With 3000+ DA, timmayfest would have sucked as a comparison. There is no secret how to run a fast time.
1. Run in negative DA >-2500 is preferable
2. Strip as much weight as possible ( seats/interior whatever, every 100lbs is worth a 10th)
3. Keep IAT's under 120 with meth or ice/res
4. Cut a 1.65 or better
Any 500whp 55K car will run a bottom 11 high 10 sec with that formula. The comparison of tuners abilities is how much power they make on the same dyno. Period. Track performance comparisons have dozens of variables and is even more stupid then comparing different dynos on different days.
Also fwiw I have an LSD and it's definately not worth .3-.5. I also need to burn out in dyno mode.
