Search is your friend!

Resonators dont really do much... Most people remove the secondary cats as well. If you want more louder, remove the primary cats too!

No probably gain power! But removing primary cats will trigger the Check engine light.

what tbal said is exactly right. My old setup was removal of resonator and secondary cats with an x pipe where the cats use to be. Noticeably louder and refined sound with no check engine lights either.

I suggest putting it where you took the resonator out from. (out back) Seems like that resonator also crosses over (xpipe)... Must be a reason why the amg techs decided to put it there...

I definitely lost major torque down low when I removed the resonator with straight pipes. I should get it back though when I do the long tube header system and a tune.

I highly doubt you can feel a difference in power from removing the resonator..

To the op, I would put an x-pipe in place of the secondaries if you chose to remove those too..

You wont.. "Take off is not as violent" is BS.. No chance you will ever notice it from a resonator delete.. There is so much wheel spin from a dig that its not even close to noticeable..

My advice is to go with a resonator and secondary cat delete with an x-pipe in place of the secondaries and you will have a nice sounding beast..

Does placing the xpipe in different places result in different gains/loss?

I'm sure it's been discussed lol

Not sure.. But I've heard placement might have a factor in drone.. Placing the x-pipe in place of the secondaries would be your best bet..

I did this too -- but i have a small H pipe where the cats were at and I have a 2 3/4inch x-pipe where the resonator was at... no drone - no problems --

yeah - i have both ... its no big deal. I think the stock system has a slight H around the cats and possibly a merger at the resonator.... So, I just kept that same design but eliminated the restrictions 'cats and resonator'.
