Anyone have any experience with Rennology as it relates to tuning? Any other shops recommended in Chicago area?

I have not heard of them nor have I seen any discussion about them on the boards. Hopefully some local Chicago guys will chime in. There is Eurocharged in Plainfield.

Stay away!!!!! from fluid motor union, Eurocharged has been great help to me and others on the forum even though i have not used them since i sold my E55 . Chicago Performance and Tuning is pricey and i don't like there customer service ive called over there a few times and they sound disintrested unless u spend major money i guess just my .02. Good luck

I use Rennology for all of my service and mods...I believe they use powerchip as their tune of choice. They do a great job with everything, very knowledgeable, but a tad on the expensive end. But at least you know it will be done right and they will work on your car until you are 100% satisfied.

Ditto on that Chicago Performance and Tuning comment...and I had major money to spend. They call themselves AMG specialists but when I called there a few years ago when I purchased my Black Series the guy on the phone had no idea what a Black Series was...he insisted that I did not know what I was talking about . They are P Car *****s, let the P car crowd have em.

I'm in Naperville and opted to ship my car out to evosport in Cali for my tuning, but I know Jerry and the Eurocharged guys, they know there stuff and they've been around here for a while, they are not just some fly-by-night flavor of the week tuner. In my opinioin they are the best AMG tuner in the Chicago area with track proven performance to back up their work.

Don't twist my words, the post I was replying to said Chicago Performance would only talk to him if he had "major money to spend" my point was that I had major money to spend and they still wouldn't talk to me.

Hey Jim, I spoke with Al regarding that conversation, lol. I think it was a simple misunderstanding on both ends. Al has done a lot of 63s, 65s, and 55s in the past and I am sure he could help out! Thanks

What up Alek? How's it going, you getting through this winter? The whole Chicago Perfomance thing is water under the bridge, I don't even remember the name of who I spoke with but who ever he was seemed dis-interested, pre-occupied, confrontational insisting that MB did not make a vehicle called a CLK63 Black Series and acted as if I was wasting his time so as you know I took my business to evosport 1500 miles away instead of 15 miles away. Maybe it was a mis-understanding but not on my part. Maybe I just caught him at a bad time or at a time when the shop was so busy they didn't feel like taking on any new projects whatever the reason its not important anymore but it did leve a bad taste in my mouth and you know I'm a pretty laid back guy about most things

Agreed. Marcin is by far the most knowledgeable MB tuner out there. I think he is the only tuner who hasn't grenaded a motor in a Benz.

I checked on a number of these options and they all (at least the 3 of 4 I tried) require the ECU to be shipped out of state for the re-flash which is somewhat surprising given the size of the Chicago market. I was really looking forward to going to a shop and just getting done, however I guess that won't be happening.

Where is Eurocharged based now? Are they not in Chicago anymore? They had a shop a block away from one of my buildings out in Naperville/Plainfield area, I know they moved but did they move out of state?

hey Jim. Ya, our lease was coming up, and the landlord (landscaper) had an offer on all 4 units (we had 2 of them) He wanted more money of coarse, so it didn't make sense to do it, especially with our weather here in chi.

We have 2 locations now, one in Houston, and one in Toronto. (and a sales office in chi)

Houston is much better for us, as we are tuning more and more exotics then ever before, and they run rampant out there. (not to mention the great weather)

Old shop was nice, but don't miss the awesome truck drivers getting stuck at the end of the street all the time lolol

I have tried multiple times to work with Speedriven.
Won't return phone calls
Won't reply to e-mails
& lock the doors during shop hours.

but don't worry about the worst tunners.
Listen to how many times people have stated the best.

used Speedriven many times nothing but the best to say about them, always followed up with me if I was happy with the service, all the installs where done on time, very knowledgeable technicians

I would recommend them to anyone since I had nothing but best experience with them

I know I'm new on here but Martin is a very stand-up guy and if any phonecalls are not being returned it might be due to not having enough help around the shop not lack thereof of interest or commitment.
