i know most of the research and chat goes on in this forum so im posting this here.
can someone tell me the manheim prices for the slk32 yrs 2002 to 2004? it seems the 2004 have a large retail price compared to nada prices which was what i was given when i totaled my 32.
i found a 2004 white 32 with 14,000 miles and a firemist red 32 with 10,000 miles both in the 28,000$ range. seems pretty high to me. am i wrong?
nada shows some were in the 21,000$ range for tradein so they are marking the cars up 7000$?!! both at dealerships red at a m/b dealer and the white at a hyundai dealer of all places!
if theres any comparison i bought my 2002 slk32 in jan 09 with 36,000 miles for 16,750$ from a private individual

Auction prices mean nothing on a rare car like the AMG.

thanx for the info. while i realize auction prices dont reflect current sales the m/b dealer is 5,000 over kbb and telling me they price their cars by the manheim market. i knew it was bs but wanted an impartial opinion.

as you seem to be very experienced in the market do you think 20,000 cash is an unreasonable offer for a 2004 slk32 with 14,000 miles? there are 2 for sale in cali 28k for one and 29k for the other

to heavy! to much maintenence. my long term plan with my last 32 was to have rcompart install the s/c 55 engine in my 32!! then you gots some power!!

yes i have. actually started out looking for a sl55 and thru the research and test rides found way to many things that will likely fail as the yrs grind on. the car is great under warrenty but after that its costs a small fortune when you consider 1 shock costs as much as an entire coilover setup for the 32. the electronics inside will also eventually fail and cost a fortune to replace. thats why i choose the 32. runs great and still very mechanical for a diy guy like myself. once rudy perfected the v8 swap it allowed me the chance to have v8 power in a car 1000 lbs lighter. thats a full second faster than the sl55 right out of box
