1 month old Johnson CM-30 DEAD.
Gentlemen.... My Johnson doesnt work.
Anyone have their Johnson CM-30 go out in ONE MONTH? I dont get it either, there isnt much in there to go wrong.
It's a centrifugal pump and the drive mechanism is very similiar to a pump on an aquarium where the impeller is magically spun with opposing magnetism--to avoid having a seal on a shaft to fail.
So after Craig's post about IATs on the torque.. I check my #'s and sensed trouble. I yanked out my pump and jumpered it on a battery. I can hear it spinning, I can see it moving the impeller--- but for the life of me I cannot get this thing to pump.
I took it into my wash tub--- put 12" of hose on each end. Primed it. Put the intake side in a gallon of water. Energized it, NOTHING.
Any ideas here, and other similar experiences?
Thanks in advance. RA

I'm actually going to go with a Mezeire--once bitten twice shy.
I'm just trying to figure out what is causing this POS not to pump. It's just such a simple design---how can it not work?
Also, looking to see if there is ANYTHING AT ALL I am overlooking here.

Iv been telling locals to run the oem pump for a while now.It works great and nice to put a switch on it to run it when you want.Like when your sitting in the staging lines heat soaked!!!
You guys are in for some fun now that you can data log, just wait until its 85-90 out to see where your temps go.
You will see why I dropped pulley sizes lol

It takes 15 minutes from the time it's jacked up to yank it out.
Tools needed: ratchet with 8mm socket(belly cover bolts) 10mm socket(for pump bracket), Pliers for hose clamps, drain pan.
Once yanked.
Then put 2 12" sections of 3/4" heater hose on both ends.
Prime with water.
Put the intake end in a jug of water and the other end in an empty jug.
Add some 12V from a battery
Within minutes you'll know if it's the pump.
