Updated E63 instrument cluster!

That;s pretty awesome. The key feature that keeps drawing me to these E63 clusters is the fact that the MFD turns red to notify of up shift. I like to think of that as a massive shift light and since all my quickest 1/4 mile times are with me manually up shifting in M should make it more fun.

i don't think the upshift option would work since the redline is different. by the time you're at your redline, the E63 is still spinning up...

well i tried this last night and SDS would not set the cluster back to 0 or even up to my current mileage, since it's not mated to the car. i guess i will need to get ahold of one of those tools like tacho pro or enigma to re-viginize the cluster...

make sure it has not been installed because even if it has zero miles it will not work. For example, I bought a "new" one with zero miles from a seller in Germany that came out of a brand new CLK63, yet Mercedes could not program it because it was "learned" already by another car. Just helping you out so you do not get screwed out of $600 like i did!
Is this something that STAR-DAS could fix?
Thanks man,

so i bought a Tacho Pro in order to reset a used cluster back to 0. But I cannot figure out which harness to use. does anyone have experience with that tool?

For anyone that's interested in an e63 cluster without reprogramming you can buy this
http://www.ebay.de/itm/AMG-63-AMG-55...item23146c41f0
I wouldn't recommend this job unless you're ready to completely disassemble your cluster. There's lots of small ribbon cables etc that are easy to damage.

That's true, but its only like 800 rpm by the time you hit red line. Doesn't bother me day to day. If my car was a manual it might bug me though.

'05 with 160mph cluster?? strange. The speed will read accurately until you hit 120, after that the e63 cluster goes up 20 mph each tick. So basically it will read 200mph at 160mph. Again it doesn't bother me cause I pretty much never hit 120+ on public roads. If you have the 200mph speedo atm then it will be the exact same.
