Just bought E55 driving impression/question

Hey all just grabbed the E55, car is amazing. One question I had is when I first start off from a light depending on the throttle, seems to kick a little. If I really feather it nothing happens; same thing for giving it lots. Just the right amount; I'd say normal it has a slight jerk then accelerates normally. Seems as if almost something in the engine is engaging..pulley perhaps...kompressor? dunno if this is a normal thing or not. Lots more to come I'm sure, glad to be a part of the forum.

Thanks

It's the supercharger engaging. Just give it more gas.

You need a new s/c clutch, it engaging too roughly.

And when you floor it you most likely don't notice it as anything other than pure torque

My clutch was replaced in October or so and I still get that feeling sometimes. I always thought that maybe the car was starting off in second to concerve fuel and then downshifted to 1st once it realized that I was wanting more....

clutch kicking in and gets way worse with bigger pulley.Like others said, its the clutch and not worth the 1300 to get it fixed only to have it do the same thing 3 months down the road.

yes, sport starts in 2nd unless it feels you need more power, while 's' starts in first, and manual starts in which ever gear you tell it too
EDIT: i meant comfort starts in second, Not sport

Then it's not what I thought it might be as I never use the Comfort trans setting.

Book says S is for standard? not sport..? Anyways, I also noticed the HID's on here are not really super white/blue like the ones on my 03 Audi. Whats the OEM temp?

yes, just get new bulbs. AZN optics has some killer LED day time running lamps, and under $20. he has 5000k bulbs and 8000ks. i bought the 8000ks and ill post pic later. but what do you think so far besides the jerk?

So far it's awesome. First Merc so I'm just trying to figure all the bells and whistles out. I love how effortlessly it accelerates while barely touching the throttle. Few more questions, don't have BT obviously; and
It says the phone isn't hooked up. Was this an option? And or a pita to get set up? I'm up here in Denver supposedly you can get away with mid grade or regular? Stealer lady told me this. And as for the hid bulbs, they somewhat easy to swap out?

looking forward to seeing pics. my left headlight (drivers side) went out and isn't working. the glass at the front seems pretty cloudy, and isn't working (the indicator is working fine) I want to replace both headlight and DRL with HIDs. Do you think it's just the bulb that died out or the entire headlight assembly or something?

Ill post pics a lil later, and to Broham, no no no!!! only use premium!!using other grades WILL end up damaging the engine. and you can determine if BT is possible by looking for this in the passenger foot well

If you have this speaker, then your car can have the phone/BT installed, if you look at Yachtmasters diy ipod thread, there similar installs. just lots of wires to run and some STAR coding.

They look so much better than stock man! Where did you buy them from? You think this would solve my headlight problem by just replacing the bulbs?
