Vibration and clunking in the rear

Hi guys,

I have a slight vibration that starts mildly from 100kph and gets stronger as i speed up. Any ideas?
It started when my water pump for the IC shat itself and when backing off throttle at high rpm it would decelerate very hard.

Also could anyone please provide me with a break down of the rear end from a manual? I am thinking of replaceing the bushes as i have a bit of backlash in the rear at slow speed.

Thanks

are your tires balanced? i think the IC pump is a coincidence, i dont think the pumps failing would cause any noises what so ever

When the pump failed and the air intake temps rose it cause the car to jolt violently after accelerating hard and getting off the throttle at high revs.

I am getting my quaife installed in a few weeks time so i'll check them then.

Does anyone have an exploded view of the rear end of these cars or point me in the direction to where i can get it?

once again, the IC pump is not the issue. mine died 3 days ago, getting fixed wednesday. the only symptom was high iats and loss of s/c at high temps

Your not understanding what i am saying. Its not a sympton of the pump, its how it was making the car drive when i was driving hard. It was causing a very large backlash in the rear which i think may have lossened/damaged something. Not bad but noticable.

that sounds like either a transmission issue, or something rattling loose

Have you got under the car and looked, Yes a diagram is nice but you should be able to figure out were the Rear sub frame bolts to the body just by looking. Once your under the car just look for were it's connected.

Ok i have been under the car and no its not the rear subframe bolts. I have the car booked in on Saturday for a wheel balance and align to get that ticked off the list for possible vibration probs then i will be getting the tailshaft balanced.

The reason i what like the diagram is because i wish to replace all rear end bushes.

Did you ever find out what this was? I just recently started feeling the same thing... Like a jolt from the rear after accelerating hard, then getting off, then back on again (bang!!!)

Nope sorry mate. Still have a vibration that comes in over 100kph then get worse as i accelerate after that. Also have the backlash there as well.

I am going to check out the rubber doughnut on the the tail shaft and see if it is ok.
