E 55's arrive east coast
I work at a Benz dealer in Delaware and we just got 2 03 E55's in on friday. A black one ($81,000) with bi xenons and a dark gray one ($83,000) panorama roof. All I have to say is WOW! I can't believe how nice the car sits, very low, and yet it rides like a dream. Everything about it is AWESOME! I think Benz has stepped it finally and solidly best the M5. If anyone has questions I will try to answer them and oh ya yes they are sold.

Could you shoot them before their respective owners claim them? Preferably both interior and evxterior shots. Maybe one of the instrumentation. Oh, yes one of that panoramiic roof. Were they sold at list or above?

Sorry the pics are not that great but it was raining and had to take the pics inside plus the batt was dieing on me. I'm off the next 2 days hopefully they will still be there and I'll get better pics. Enjoy.

I believe they were sold for list because they are sold to the owners 2 good friends. The instrument cluster is about the only thing that I have a complaint about. The gauges are too small especially the tach which has no indication for redline but then again it only goes to 7000 so I guess that is redline? The CL55 speedo goes to 200mph and the E55 160mph ( i think maybe 170? ). I know no one is gonna go that fast but it's just cool to look at your speedo and it has 200mph on it.

I don't remember if it had a rear sun shade ($440) or 6 disc cd ($400) or venilated seats ($650) but you can see it adds up quick.

Thanks MB Tech. That's the first time I've seen an E55 in Tectite (I assume that's what the non-Black one was) which is the color I ordered. Any chance you can get a photo outdoors, or have they already been delivered now? Either way, thanks for those photos.

MB TECH, can you describe the exhaust note compared to SL55, S55 & CL55 if possible? Can you guys dyno the car for the actual HP rating. Many believe the car really has 493 like all the others and that MBZ Marketing has downgraded the HP only on paper. Thanks.

Kev, you won't be able to get good dyno numbers unless you actually pull the engine. Drivetrain friction and tire slippage will reduce the HP to the rear wheels and there's no reliable way to really know what the engine is putting out.
