No really.
Set your dash to read outside temp, turn key to position 1, then press the reset button 3 quick times, scroll through the menu (on the dash with steering wheel buttons) select dyno mode. Turn key off. Theres also a video on YouTube.

Just to be clear it doesn't "flash" the TCU it clears the adaptions the TCU has stored in it's EEPROM.Originally Posted by 03'55AMG
Thats it! some say not to do ANYTHING because it makes the computer do work while working and it may 'drop' the process of flashing the TCU.. I don't know if it's true, but I have to sit in my car at least 5 minutes every time I get in so not a problem..

lol, then it turns into "HA, jokes on you, it actually worked"
You guys are alright by me. I have already learned a bunch, and love my car thanks to you guys. So if joke's on me, so be it.
That being said, if this is really how you enter "dyno mode" then how do you exit it?

Hey guys, shout out to the two of you in sunny Buffalo, anyone in the area besides the dreaded dealer you recommend for service? Anyone have STAR amongst us, for quick things like lowering the temp the fan kicks on, telling the MOST system there is a phone on board, etc (I plan to buy the bluetooth puck)...
Thanks!
Chris
Thanks!

Dyno mode is very simple, click the reset button 3 times while on the temp screen, then use the arrows to scroll until you see 'dynomometer test rig; on/off with 15' or something like that, just scroll over off and start the car and navigate back to the mph/temp display, then youll see ESP not available rig test and ABS unavailable ... same procedure turning it off, just scroll through the menu and turn the rig test off. then your good..Originally Posted by Chris Buffalo

Thanks again guys - okay this one has me stumped. While driving home today, the "check engine" light came on. Car seems to be running fine, and the speedo display says "no malfunction". I have stopped and restarted the car once, no change. Seems to be running fine. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Chris
Thanks,
Chris
Also- is there any way to get it to tell me what set the code, or clear it?

Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes or so. If the CEL comes back on take it in to the dealer to diagnose. They can take the code it threw and go from there. Your shaking problem is probably just the wheels needing to be balanced. Overall, a trip in is prolly a good idea unless you are inclined to fix it all. Also, they can tell you about the service history of your car. Congrats and good luck with it.Originally Posted by Chris Buffalo
