W211 E55 0-60 performance figures
Since it has only done 1200km's, I kept revs under 5500rpm and the road was damp.
After the weekend The car will have done over the 1500km break in distance, so I will give it another run and also get 1/4 mile figures. I use a section of a local freeway at night which is both straight and flat.
I got a 4.71 and 4.84 sec 0-100kmh. This equates to approx 4.5-4.6 sec 0-60mph. These equal the manufacturers performance figures.
I feel sure that given its head and a dry road, it will easily do sub 4.5's 0-100kmh.
A set of Pirelli PZero's will be fitted tomorrow (the tyres on my other E55 need replacing, so I am using the opportunity to fit the E55K tyres to the old car and fit stickier, wider tyres on the new one.)
I am quietly confident of a 4.2-4.3, which is the same as 4.0 0-60mph.
Unfortunately the standard rims limit you to 245 and 275 tyres.
If I change rims at a later stage I would go to 255's and 285's.

I have has the GTech for quite some time now and have calibrated it on a dragstrip, against stop watch and speedo (when the Gtach says you have reached 100kmh it is exactly accurate with the speedo) and have not experienced the same variation you talk about.
An Australian performance car magazine used one last year to compare the E55 with a HSV Holden on a drag strip. They commented on how surprised they were at the accuracy and consistency of the unit.
My experience has shown as long as the road is truly flat and straight, the unit is accurate.
