I had no problems while I had the Ruf. I also live in Dallas where there is a Ruf Auto Center. Great shop and a great group of guys. I was not looking to sell but I had a good offer and I was able to own it for a year for practically nothing. I let it go mostly for financial reasons. I have some regrets but I may pick up another one in the future. I had a couple of other cars so it was not my daily driver. As a second car it is amazing, but as a daily I might prefer the GTR.

You will find some threads on the topic of the Nissan upgrade program. A few members have inquired about the upgrade program, but no one at Nissan USA has any knowledge of it. I would expect that the upgrade program would be very costly. I wouldn't be shocked to hear $15K even though the parts would be a few grand (my mods cost under $1,800 installed). You have to figure that Nissan would prefer '09-'11 GT-R owners to just trade in the car for a '12, so it wouldn't make sense for them to make it cheap to do the upgrade.

If it's a real RUF, then go with that. It will pretty much always be worth what you paid for it. A GTR will be worth less in the long run of ownership.
