This not dissimilar to the the 997.2 TT and the 997.2 TT-S- the S is tuned to 530hp versus the 500 hp of the standard TT. So what I was saying was if I get the non performance (not upgraded tune) I would hope someone would crack the tune to get me to the upgraded levels if not more.
And I agree, it wont take long for either car.
Which one is faster? Id have to guess the times will be very close? Whats the better handler? I think AMG with the W212 has narrowed the gap for sure. Whats the better looker, inside and out? Which one will be tunable first?

stock = 540 hp tuned NOT BY AMG to 600hp (OE Tuning, Speed driven, Carlsson).
P30 = 571hp tuned by AMG and can be tuned by the aboove companies to 600hp.

Just curious but both the M5 and AMG will be using motors based on their pedestrian versions. That would suggest that the F10 550i could be tuned to closer to the M5 and that the E550 (when it gets the M278) could get closer to the E63. Not the same car of course but it sounds like performance with non M and non AMG can get closer now, no? I know the displacement and the bore and stroke is different in the new M157 versus the M278, but even the M278 will be easily tuned with the TTs.
Everybody going with FI now is going to make the manufacturers have to look at other ways to really differentiate their performance cars (like a better chassis and tranny, body design, etc..)

It states that the sale date is this fall but it's not clear if that's the US or not.
Strange that Daimler still hasn't posted an official announcement. At least I can't find it....

Yeah, if they are reading this they are going to see that all the MB World guys can't wait until they can afford the TT years down the road used, etc. while they are still modding the crap out of their 5 years + old 55Ks...LOL! Not knocking anyone, myself included.
