I owned a 2011 SS, and it was a good car. My problem with it was that it was an absolute pig in the corners at 4000+ pounds. It's about 500 to 600 pounds heavier than it needed to be which really hurt it in anything other than a straight line. Though my P30 is 4000 pounds, but it handles exceptionally well for what I would be doing on a public road. I've hammered it through a few tight corners and it corners very flat. The SS would get a little boaty in the same turns. But of course you are talking about a HUGE price difference in cars. You could have two SS Camaros for one E63.

Actually, your P30 weights more than a regular E63 due to the limited slip differential and wider rims. And if you have the Pano roof option, that's another 140 lbs that you don't want. My guess is that your P30 weights (at least) 4300 lbs. I weighted a few of them at the track during a private rental event
