Good inexpensive E55 mechanic in Phoenix
Hi guys,
Can anyone in the Phoenix, AZ area make a recommendation for a mechanic who knows AMG's and doesn't try to rip you off? I have to get all three mounts replaced and the dealer is quoting 7 hours @115, which seems insane. I've been trying to find someone good who knew our cars for a while, and this is the tipping point. May be we can start some stickies on good mechanics with decent rates in different areas of the country? I don't think finding a good mechanic charging $75-$90/hour who can do this job in under 5 hours is too much to ask, is it?
Any recommendations? If I pick your mechanic, I'd be happy to mention your name for a reference, if you want. I am in the East Valley, so that's preferred, but I'll go to the West Valley too, if they are open on Saturday.

typially chris at floored fab is the best around but he's backed up immensely right now. and please don't mention my name as a referrence...he's going to end up hating me me if i keep killing what little personal time he has left by referring more people!

Autohaus of North Scottsdale isn't inexpensive (who is?), but they're more reasonable than most dealers and do good work, in my experience. Their mechanics previously worked at area MBZ dealers. Their web site is www.autohausofnorthscottsdale.com

Thanks for the recommendations. I gotta find this Chris guy . Does he even take on new clients? Who does he work for again? I can't find anything on him or floored fab by googling.

I've had all my mods installed by DynoComp (in Scottsdale dynocomp.com) and I've been very happy with all of their work. They charge $100 an hour and installed everything I have in my signature below.
Rich is the owner and they're very knowledgeable on E55's, so I'd recommend them.
I haven't used AutoHaus or Chris for work yet, but he is building my headers as part of the group buy so I don't think you'll even be able to get him for the next month or so. (He has a full time job in addition to fabication.)
I will be having him install my full exhaust system (he built them so why not!) and will report back here as to how things go.
My $.02.

I just drove by this shop today. Plan on doing my first service early next year. Great reviews but no experience by me. I guess I just brought this thread back to life. Any current experiences please post.
