Yes my pulley is 168...

Sneakyneon we share just about the same weather patterns... do you ever experiance this? But you guys are running 180+ pulleys which makes A TON more heat than my 168 should?

your new cm30 might be weaksauce. 6 pulls, back to back to back to back to back to back is asking alot from an already inferior design.

Ive only experienced SC shutdown on the stock pump. I swapped it out with a cm30 and Ive never had an issue, but again, im not doing 6 pulls back to back, but Im also on stock pulley. Granted a 168 isnt much larger than stock, but more heat is more heat.

Try jacking the car up in the front, maybe a few air bubbles will work their way loose if you have any. I swapped mine out without any issue

Tbal do you guys have autozone up there? they have scan tools that you can use.Go there and look at the air temps and then buy the scan tool. You will need it in the long run.

I didnt know you were on a 168!!! I thought you went 180 haha

I have the new bosch pump not the cm30. But if the pump works fine hard wired to a 12v source without any burps for an hour, pump is working isnt it?

Just Kleeman 168, not crazy like you guys with the 180 185s lol

No autozone, I might as well wait a few days now until I get my scan tool...

I don't get that kind of issue, but then again I would not dream of 6 back to back runs. To me that's just asking for problems. Is the bog right away or at the end of the pull? So everytime you want to duplicate the issue you have to run the car at least 6 full pulls?

Its intermittent. I mean I can sometimes do 4 pulls and its fine, sometimes 7 its fine... It bogs down right away, and then after just cruising for about 2-3mins the car is back for a few more pulls before bogging down again. BUT after the bog down does occur, I can turn the car off, than on, and shes ready to go! Confusing...

This has never happened before, seems like the problem came into play since the new HE and pump.

Sounds like a heat soak issue.
Your welcome to use my data logger if you want to drive down to Tacoma.

DAMN

Maybe I should throw the stock HE back in too... Well I will wait and see what my IAT's are in a few days. Im considering rigging the ic pump to run continuously and see if that helps... What you think?

Funny thing is the stock pump and he never gave me this problem! llol did I downgrade or something?

Problem solved!!!!!!!!! Rigged the pump to run when car is turned on, and bam the beast runs stronger than ever! Did MANY back to back pulls and car felt the same as the first run

Is it bad for the pump to run all the time? Going to install a switch to manally run the pump, run the pump all the time, or ecu controlled.

Meanwhile thanks to everyone with any input. Scratch, Sneakyneon I ordered that scan tool anyway, probably will need it in the future lol

I guess it was the pump circuit that was bad. Leave it on all the time, it may only cause some issues during cold winters ( if you even have those ).

winter time I'll flick the switch back to ecu controlled.

I still can't believe how much difference this made...

Im not following this?

It was 92F out and your intake temps were 105C or your engine water was at 105C?

The water is supposed to be at 200F with a 190d thermostat.

There is no way your intake temps were 221F with the S/C not engaged.

Engine temp has nothing to do with intake air temps

Not that hard tap into the ic pumps plug, ground to ground, power connect to a wire in the fuse box that has power when ignition "on". The one I used is the thick red wire, with a green stripe I think, located towards the front of the fuse box. Just use a multimeter etc to see if the power is switched on.

This was engine temps. The IATs ae really high too though, dont have a scan tool, but SC cuts out after 2 not so back to back runs in 92* ambient.

No longer stock '06 E55, A3 3.2 Quattro, LRD4 HSE, R107 280SL
Were you using stock pump power supply or a relay setup? I expect a relay would have been better as the CM30 (and definately anything more powerfull) would pop the pump power supply fuse....
