Help, car bogs down after few runs. (new pump/he) air in system?
Last week I did a new HE and new Bosch pump, new coolant...
Today was a fairly warm and nice day, so decided to go for a drive. After 5-6 WOT pulls, the car bogs down (SC inactive), but as soon as I turn the car off than on, or give it a few mins, the car runs fine!! First instinct would be pump is dying... correct? Not the case because its brand new, and I've had it hooked up for 2-3 15-20min sessions to bleed the air from the system...
I'm waiting for the car to cool down so I can bleed the system again. Could air in the system cause such a problem? Could it be the pump, regardless it works when wired directly?
I don't know if this is relevant but I've smelled oil on a few occasions as well. (Could a leak in the system, eg. surge tank gasket cause an issue like this?)
Any thoughts?
Really? lol
Bled system for a good 30mins, fluid was clear no bubbles what so ever... Could a leak in the system cause a hiccup like this? But once I turn the car off, than back on, I can do another few pulls...?

Do you know your IAT? when this happen? That would answer some of your questions. If you don't want to go all out on a log tool,. Just get a Innova 3130 you can log a few things, IAT's being one of them. At least you would know if your pump change made a differences and if your IAT's are high.
According to Alldata, its Relay A, in the trunk (Very bottom). I thought it was a fuse? Can anyone confirm.
I get the feeling their is no power going to the pump, until I get a datalogger to check IAT, going to wire the pump to run all the time and see if that makes a difference. Apparently 03 e55's ic pump ran all the time, but because of quicker failure of the pumps, they were later switched to only come on when sc engages?

You need logging software of some kind.
Ive said many times before, You can never fix a problem if you don't what its doing.
First mod should be a least a basic odb scan tool.

all kidding aside I'd re-check all the lines and bleed the system one more time before throwing money on a scan tool.
Double checked the lines, no leakage, system bled to death with noooo bubbles.
Could the relay/fuse for ic pump be dead? Anyone know locations?
Also did I hookup my HE lines correct? Anyone have a picture the car share? Or tell me if the line(hose) out from the ic pump goes to the top npt or bottom npt of the heat exchanger?
If its 90 out and your running a 180 pulley your car is going to shut down after 6 wot runs.My car is at 105-110 right now off boost!I havnt even engaged the s/c yet.

Doesn't get that hot here... when I was doing the pulls it was about 16-degrees Celsius so around 62ish Fahrenheit?
Peak of summer it hits 86 tops if that. Welcome to Vancouver haha.

Never thought about that! LOL

looking at some obd scan tools...
should be good for basic ****
