Not a fan of the looks either but I feel like its growing on me the more I look at it. The numbers are very solid 552HP/501TQ.
I would love to see some comparison tests with the biturbo E63 AMG.

It looks like a larger 3 series.

I like it. Looks are subjective of course. But it has the appearance of a more compact sports sedan to me and without being too blingy. It's more subtle, imho.

I'll say this though, if you haven't driven the new F10 BMW give it a try. The cockpit is really ergonomic and everything is positioned just right. You feel like you're sitting lower and surrounded by everything in the right place. It's a great driver's position. The W212 is too "spread out" and you feel like you're sitting on top of the seats instead of into them. That's also why I like the W211 cockpit over the W212.

Honestly...I can work with it. A LOT better than the E60 M5 IMHO.

+1 on the bigger 3 series. Definitely see that one.

Whateverz...I'm happy with my 211. Look forward to runnin into one. Modded would be even better!

I like it! Looks mean as hell... what does the M division have planned for the transmission/engine?

Not bad, round off the trunk and place a silhouette of the W211 over it.

The new M5 is going to be an excellent car. I love the F10 chassis and with that much power it will be right at the top of its class.

It really looks like a bigger version of the M3 sedan. But if, I had to choose between this and the new W212 E63. Which I don't like either of. I really don't know

I like it more than W212 E63. The rear bumper and exhaust looks much more sporty than W212 (IMO)

IMO, the best looking car is W211 E63 for me. The front, side, rear bumper looks just as good as it can. I am just too lazy to do the conversion.

Flat nosed, and definitely not a fan of the "same sausage several size" design approach, bring back Bangle at least the BMW cars had *something* back then, now is more bland than a Lexus

Is it me or are the M5 numbers ALL OVER the board.

Originally it was 570hp, now this number above is a new one. I have heard several numbers besides this one.

Cant wait to see the Stig in both. Sounds stupid but it's about the only true test we have to see which one is better from an impartial jury. Car and Driver is a waste of time and ALWAYS favors M over E. Drag times are even bigger wastes as track conditions differ, drivers differ.

So sad that it's bascially all on a little guy from England to decide which is better.

I like it, but the reflectors on the rear bumper and the flat nose is just a down side.

I love it! The BMW M designers did a good job on it from all angles. Performance-wise it will no doubt deliver the goods...

C&D will fall all over themselves to blow everyone in the ///M division the second they hit that START button on the M5.

Looks ok but is a bit bland. From the front front, it looks like an elephant sat on the car and lefts its cheek imprints in the hood.

yes YES, that's it. Couldn't put my finger on it. It's got an M3 kinda vibe going on in certain angles. Gonna be fun...the war! Can't wait!

Seems to me that 501 Torque is weak considering the lead time they had on this thing. The E63TT is going to eat this thing for breakfast with the torque difference (501 vs 663!!)
