My 2007 E63 - It is both the best and worst thing I have done in a LOOONG time.
The first thing I remember saying to myself is this car is stunningly beautiful and evil as Sh$# at the same time. I knew it would be fast, but my expectations were more on par with a big body sedan with a big engine. Great in a straight line, but a hog in the corners with loose steering. I took the car out on the highway and let her rip...now this part is a bit fuzzy, but I think somewhere amid the acceleration there was a rip in the space time continuum and a few cars behind me got a free trip to another galaxy. There are few times I have smiled that wide, and 99% of those involved alcohol and fake *****. I zipped in and out of traffic feeling like Godzilla behind the wheel. By the time I made it back to the dealership I had forgotten what day it was..It was almost as if nothing else mattered, I needed this car.
Needless to say, after a few brief negotiations back and forth it was done. I took the car and have never looked back. I have driven many cars in my lifetime, but to categorize this as such is a disservice to Mercedes and to Aufrecht & Melcher. This is what Astronauts would take to the moon if this thing could fly. I can't even look at BMW's the same anymore...I almost felt as though I had been kept under the stairs by an evil parent who wanted to keep the secret all to themselves.
In response to your "good" and "bad" comments, all I can say is this. Getting dirty quickly is this car's way of saying wash me all the time, I am not a Honda. Burning up the gas is how you feed the beast, You can't feed Ramen noodles to Adrian Peterson and expect him to run 150 yds a game. Paying for maintenance is like the best doctor's for your kid, No one wants the C student from Wichita State performing heart surgery on your son.
This all costs money, but anything that makes you smile from simply sitting in the garage deserves to be an attention *****. She may be the most expensive girlfriend I have ever had, but she has yet to leave me stranded and has never failed to make me happy. Worth every penny

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Thank you! I just re-read it again, and was transported back to when I wrote it....good times.

Being brought back to your senses when considering an E55 or E63 is a hard thing to do. LOL!

Thanks! I finally pryed the keys away from my wife (to get the winter tires put on) and just smiled when I fired up the car and heard that exhaust bark and growl to life. I really love driving this car so very much.
Note: previous vehicles were 750HP 91 GMC Syclone, 06 EVO IX MR SE, 02 E55 AMG, C4 Vette, and bunch of sportbikes (GSX-R 1000, 750, R1, etc.)
