Where to find quality Carbon Fiber Grill
I am looking for a CF grill without the star...DCT MOTOR SPORTS already told em they no longer carry them...any other place? I saw some on Ebay, but after a lil research here it seems those are not as "solid" as OME..HELP!

I'm not big on wrapping stuff in cf.
Unless you are unable to actually find the part you want in cf.
And when you say it looks "dry" I think you are confusing the finish with the actual tape.
The wrap (I believe) you are referring to, probably has a matte finish, hence "dry".
You can just get glossy finish and it will look like any cf.

I figured so, a friend wrapped his "fully sick Civic" and it lost 500kg, just amazing
On a more serious note though guys, I ment a real CF grill, not a wrap, would it make a difference?

Would adding sticker like NOS and Greddy to the grill make more power, I heard some guy on the Civic forums got 70whp and 110 lb ft from 3 stickers. No wonder we're so stupid, too busy looking at headers, pulleys and cooling, useless!

Try this company...I'm sure they can do a CF grill. You'd have to buy a grill and send it to them.

Carbon Grill
here is a set of Carbon HREs, That my company did for B. Gorman. Not the vinyl wrap. Gorman and I have been working together on building custom sets of wheels,I will post some pics of my carbon grill within the next week when I have time to do it.If you would like PM me and I will talk further about pricing and what is possible above and beyond the grill. you can take a look at B. Gormans thread under wheels classifieds to see alittle bit more of whats possible. I will be sponsoring mbworld shortly once I catch up with back orders. Let me know what you think

carbon
NO they are not made of carbon fiber, not vinyl, its a new technology to where its a dipping process involving water, called water transfer. Simple way to explain, is the pattern (in this case Carbon Fiber) is transfered over the base coat and the cleared. Simple sandwiched between the base coat an the clear coat. The cost is cheaper then having a vinyl company wrap a piece for you and a hell of alot cheaper then a real carbon piece. with this process it gets into all the tight areas. Vinyl would not be able to do a full wheel nor a grill all in the corners.

I think I have seen that water process you speak of. The guys on Orange County Choppers went to a place that did that with a camo pattern in water. Pretty cool to watch.

They did water transfer CF on parts of the E55...all chrome body trim, front OE grill, and rear 3 piece spoiler. That was the only option at the time since all those pieces were so small or thin. The grill actually looked pretty good...not real CF but I knew that it was going to take a lot of punishment and water transfer was a good option for that.
