Add me to the failed Airmatic list

Jesus Christ!!
These photos just gave me a massive scare, considering this could happen to anyone. Why does Mercedes insist on putting these stupid useless systems there. No one like Airmatic, no one wants a mattress ride, just put coilovers from the start. You would think spending this much on the car and failures like this happen
OP do you have warranty? You should do the coilover conversion ASAP, cheaper too.

I am out of town right now working and a friend went in the garage and sent me a picture of my car 2 days ago (It had been sitting for like 3 weeks so not sure how long it had been like that). I had him get my keys and start it and he said it went right up then I had him check it again today (3 days later) and it went almost down to where it was in this pic. I am hoping it is just a leak somewhere like an air hose or something. Anyone have any ideas? I have read hoses leak up at the distribution block by front wheel behind the liner sometimes, but the only thing that confuses me there is if there was a leak in a line in a distribution block then shouldn't all of them leak out that hole then causing all the shocks to get low? I have never looked at it so I am not sure how it looks/works.

Go Arnott! I thought I heard your air bag blow all the way at my office (1/4 mile away).
Arnott= Economical and you keep the auto ride adjustment. Leave the coil overs for the BMW`s. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I had a front ABC strut go and it was 1500 bucks via dealer 2 years ago!

Unfortunately, as we all know, the early 2000s-era cars were especially prone to suspension failure, among others if you weren't lucky....It seems the current crop are better in that regard, but that doesn't matter much when it happens to you.
I'd go the Arnott route, they worked great in my old Town Car when its air shocks finally gave out after 15 years. Can't imagine it's going to be as easy to do it yourself on a newer Benz though!

I think maybe your fine, as the suspension will settle over time. But if it's completely slammed then yes, have your car flat bedded to MB to analyze your issue.

Well like I said, the passenger rear was slammed but not the driver rear so it was only on that side. The driver side did go down a small amount from where it would normally sit but half as much as the passenger side. I will check it out when I get back home, I am the "do it yourself, don't pay someone to do it for you" type of guy so hopefully I will figure it out. The dealer is always a last option for me since I am pretty hands on and then forums always help tremendously as well having more heads than one helping solve the problem with the knowledge bank they hold.

Shardul I freaked out when I came outside and saw my car floored. Do the Arnott! Its only $399 with a $100 core exchange, AND they offer a lifetime warranty!
The install (according to the tech) was a piece of cake, it took him 40 min!

Yeah, my passenger rear is lower than the driver rear so just the opposite of you. He measured the fender height of all 4 wheels and then started the car, he said it went back to normal height in like 10 seconds and he remeasured everything. The driver rear was slightly higher after he ran the car but the passenger rear went up a good amount more.
Does anyone know if the rear shocks (not the rear airbag) are air controlled and loose air if worn?
