simple green to wash the car and powder coated wheels?

Forgestat recommends simple green 50/50 on the black powder coated rims....does that also mean its safe to use on the whole car itself?

a quick search indicates no to using simple green for the car exterior....so what then about paino black F14s that their website indicates 50/50 simple green?

Lots of owners of black powder coated wheels so some guidance would be appreciated...thanks.

Simple green is not a good idea on the cars finish, unless you dilute it and want to strip any wax you have on the car. I would only use it on wheels if you have some stubborn dirt or tar. If you keep up with them, you shouldn't need anything that harsh.

There is only one thing to use on the paint and its ,

http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/produc...?T1=MEG+GOLD+1

and for the wheels I use,

The above stuff is the best I have found for wheel spray on
leave it on for 45 seconds and rinse and its clean.

I've heard good things about Optimum wash products not leaving spots behind.

I would use whatever soap you wash your car with.

But it is great stuff to quickly wash off brake fluid.

Big face palm when I realized what I did when changing front pads.

Returned the green and picked up the mcguires (sp) gold. Thinking that should also work on the black wheels unless someone here say NO!

Simple Green is corrosive and can discolor anodized aluminum.

Simple Green does strip the protection right off of paint. I used Chemical Guy's Diablo Gel Rim and Wheel Cleaner.

http://www.detailedimage.com/Chemica...P414/16-oz-S1/

I dilute it 3:1, and it works great. I also put Akebono pads on my car, so I do not have black wheels 2 days after a detail.

I have used many wheel cleaners and I love Sanos Wheel Cleaner it is by far the best.
