I forgot how sick race gas is in the sunmer time.you can litterally hear the engine running more timing.it sounds raspy like a na m3.

I just made a video of my whole second gear blinking the tc till 80mph

It was my understanding that our cars can only adjust timing up to 95 octane

The timing map is set up for max timing, then the engine listens to the knock sensors and pulls timing as needed (up to 12 degrees max) to prevent det.

Our ECU's cannot "advance the timing" they can only choose not to retard it

Since our gas is so crappy compared to the rest of the world they usually only use 24 Degrees as max timing...

While I know that what you said is correct, most cars will still have two maps, one for high octane and one for low octane ( don't know about the E55, but almost every car I've tuned is this way. ). If the ecu is constantly listening to knock ( or rather, constantly retarding large amounts of timing ) then it'll switch to the low octane map to try and eliminate it. The E55 may not be this way though so you can correct me on this since I've never tuned an E55.
