Thats why I used 4th gear to put load on the car and make sure the ecu is using full boost.
We tried a 3rd gear run and I think I made 569ftlbs and then did a 4th gear pull about 10 min after and make 598rwt,the guy said if I just did a 4th gear pull on a cold blower it would of made like 620ftlbs.

Also, I was recently told to do dyno runs in the gear that provides a 1:1 ratio for the most accurate dyno reading (but was not sure of the reasons). That would be 4th gear for W211 255.
E55
1st: 3.59
2nd: 2.19
3rd: 1.41
4th: 1.00
5th: .83
Final Drive Ratio: 2.65
Getting my follow up tune from Jerry for the mod rail and bigger injectors today and then will take it to the dyno later this week.

I would like to see the tuners chime in here. My thoughts:
1. 4th gear is going to subject the dyno to speeds of 185MPH, vs 131MPH for 3rd
2. We dont get max boost until 4th (per data logging), so I would think that would yield the highest results in terms of HP and Torque (Scratch confirms)
3. 4th gear would take a lot longer to get to 6500 PRM on a load bearing dyno, and the thought may be: Subject the engine to the least abount of abuse. I figure a 3rd gear pull can occur in about 10 seconds.. a 4th gear pull from 2000RPM would take much more time to come up to RL
As far as I know, most dyno runs on the E55 are done in 3rd. I would like to know why.

I used 3rd gear mainly because in 4th it wanted to downshift and then I said well that's good because I want to know what car has in 3rd being that when I cross the line in the 1/4 im towards the top of 3rd anyway.

I spoke with a tuner who said:
a) Dynos dont really like 185+
b) 4th is a long gear, and to get to RL, the heat compromises accuracy
c) Speed limiter in 4th can prevent a full pull
d) 3rd or 4th does not matter, as long as you use the same gear for comparision.. This is not a "whose dick is bigger contest". That happens at the track!
He then hung up on me.

I agree mostly with that...I always do 3rd gear for some of those reasons and mostly because 4th is just soooooo long. I fall asleep before I finish.

Kleemann told me to dyno in 4th and there is no speed limiter in dyno mode.
You need to use as close to 1:1 ratio as possible.
All of my dyno pulls were for tuning and not numbers to brag about.

I want to thank Bruce and Jeremy again for this. I love my car SOOOOO much (again). Every time I head out, I have a smile on my face. This is a great kit, and Jeremy is simply unbelievable!!
THANK YOU GENTLEMEN!!!
THANK YOU GENTLEMEN!!!
Congrats to Dane and Jeremy for helping to quantify that the TTM Injector and Fuel Rail Kit WORKS and make TREMENDOUS POWER!
This all came together very quickly this week. Wednesday(6/29) as a matter of fact. I was discussing some other topics with Jeremy and I expressed my dismay that he hadn't gotten any of his high power M113k client's to purchase my injector and rail kit even after the buzz that Jerry and his EC client's made about it(Thanks you Jerry, Jake, Shardul and the whole EC family(clients included). There were gains of 25+rwhp with just the addition of my set up to many EC cars that Jerry tuned). At that point Jeremy said that he had someone in mind who was already having a dyno tuning session on Saturday(7/02). When he told me it was Dane I said lets get this done and Jeremy had the TTM Injector and Fuel Rail Kit in his hands the following day.
The rest speaks for itself. While I think dyno numbers are just that.......numbers, there was a significant increase in power which is icing on the cake since I developed this fuel kit to mitigate the fuel starvation issues associated with high hp/tq M113k. MO POWA!
Thank you for all of your hard work Jeremy and Dane.
And for the newbies and/or naysayers, your lack of understanding of simple physics is mind boggling especially since most of you guys are new to MY MB tuning world!
The TTM injectors with the TTM fuel rail is a total solution. This wouldn't be possible with using just one or the other. They work incredible together and now 2 of the top MB tuners have proven it. Thanks again to Jeremy and Jerry for all of your effort to make this a reality.

Whatever we're tuning!
Thank you Dane for all of your time and effort with the TTM Injector and Fuel Rail Kit!
Now go get some track times so we can compare the new times to your pre-TTM Kit times.
WARNING: Until you have the TTM Injector and Fuel Rail Kit on your car, I would stay out of any high speed pulls at the top of 3rd and deep into 4th and pull your stock injectors and have them flow tested and an untrasonic cleaning. TTM offers this service for $35/injector and they are done the same day they are received. Remember the damage is cumulative each time #8 starves for fuel. Please heed this warning guys. These are very expensive engines to replace!

Thanks brother. You have been a tremendous help!!!
The first 10 people on the list will be receiving their TTM Injector and Fuel Rail Kits next week. The first set of 10 rails is complete and they just need to be pressure tested before they are ready to ship!

UPDATE-
I have not had a chance to do any 1/4 mile runs yet on this new set up, but I did go to the 1/8 mile last night at Qualcom stadium for some runs. It was the funnest time I have had there in a while.
I made about 8 passes. The first 4 were hot laps, and my fasted run was the last. Since this is an uphill parking lot with a tree bolted down, ET's are not great, and neither are traps. It is just a sucky track BUT - Since I have run here a lot, I have tons of comparative data.
At Famoso, I did an 11.4 - 1/8 mile on that run was 7.3 @ 93
I went to Qualcom the following weekend, and ran consistent 7.9 @ 89 I was back 2 more times with that set up, and by best ET was 7.8 with low DA (700)
Last night I pulled off 7.3 @ 96MPH. The fun part was lining up with some great cars, and watching them disappear in the rearview mirror.
Ran about dead even with a Viper ACR 10 (Won by .02) Nice guy by the way
The best was a blown 454 Pinto drag car. No hood, and a cam that scares babies. His drag slicks were no DR's.. these were 16" Wrinkle Walls (He pulls the front wheels every run) We lined up and the guy just smirked at me. I passed the line first, but he ran an ET of .02 better. Everyone thought I won because there is no board. His reaction was 1.50 to my 1.82....
After the race, I had about 10 people come up and say: What the F do you have in that thing... I hope someone got video of that race for Youtube!!!!
OH Forgot to mention - I heard through the grapevine that Bruce is about done with 3 kits. Read what you want, believe what you want, but this kit is a must have if you want safety with a highly modded motor (and you get power.. ask the guys I raced last night) . BUY IT!!

good job Dane, your car is a BEAST! I decided I WILL be heading down in December. First week of December, if you're free we must meet up!
