What will happen if I got wot and let off the gas?where will all the boost go?

The engine will suck up whatever airflow is left and the closed throttle body will keep the sc from building any boost. Bypass valves are pretty useless on screw/roots type superchargers that are placed post throttle body. Pre throttle S/C's MUST have bypass valves though for longevity issues. I believe there was a 55K engine that didn't have the bypass throttle body but I can't remember what vehicle had it.

In this old thread the CLK DTM engine was described as omitting the bypass: https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...r-project.html

Thanks! It is also mentioned that the 2002 SL55 doesn't have one either. I'm sure the only real reason they put one is for torque managment because even at idle it's apparently closed ( which is the reason why the s/c spins at idle even though the clutch is disengaged ). I think I'm going to try this soon.

No such animal as a 2002 SL55. They started the Kompressor SL55 in 2003.

I believe in Europe it came out in 2002. Don't quote me on this though, I just read it more than once.

Regardless, there IS such a thing as a 55K without this bypass valve. Hmmmmmmmm....interesting.

It was released in 2002. In the US it was marketed as a 2003. Did not think of the Euro models.
