2005 E55 Wagon
Mojave Mile

Any E55s ever run this 1 mile event: http://www.mojavemile.com? I did a search and it looks like a BS did: https://mbworld.org/forums/clk63-bla...-3-6-10-a.html. But, no other threads about this event.

I am asking b/c I am planning on running it in my wagon. I have run plenty of 1/4s but never a 1 mile. I was hoping someone who has run this event or any other 1 mile event (like the Texas mile), can give me some tips, tricks, suggestions or anything else that might help a newbie to the 1 miler.

For example:

1. I have a front CF lip on my wagon. Should I take it off for the 1 mile run?

2. Besides gloves and DOT approved full face helmet, do I need to have a full safety suit?

Thanks ahead for any responses and help.

i dont think you need a full suit unless you run over 190mph. jacket recommended but not req at the speed you will run. long sleeves, closed toe shoes , no shorts, no nylon. depending on the speed you are shooting for a cage may be req. you will need a fire extinguisher which you can tie wrap to the pass. seatbelt. you will have to pass tech so ensure your brakes, tires, wheels, latches are all in top shape. no fluids leaking at all and you should be golden. im guessing your looking at the 170 to 180 speed so tech should be standard.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like you have done a 1 mile somewhere?

This is near me, problem last year were all of the stipulations, it was not worth it. Hopefully they make things easier this year, if so, I will be there.

Stipulations? Can you provide some more info for a newbie? I will be attending, so the more info from those in the know the better. Thanks.

Roll Cage was listed as required for our car. Texas Mile safety rules are considerably less stringent vs the Mojave Mile.
