2007 E63 AMG - buy or not to buy?
i am located in san diego and am looking to buy a pre-owned 2007 e63 amg. the car has about 48,500 miles on it. would anyone recommend buying or staying away from this car?
also, i want to take to get a pre-purchase inspection and was wondering if anyone could recommend a shop in the san diego area. thanks for your help in advance!

Buy that beast! That's my next purchase. That or a CLS 55. IMO, you can keep a 63 bone stock and not worry about who is modding what. That car bone stock with some roof racks, MY dream car.

Any Mercedes dealer will do a pre-purchase inspection, you can try MB of San Diego in Kearny Mesa, but I personally prefers and recommend MB Hoehn in Carlsbad, they seem to be overall more customer focused, even though they are renovating the facilities now.

Despite what others will tell you, the E63 has less issues than the E55 with the supercharger. The E55 is more open to mods then the E63, but I think that the E63 looks better.

I agree. Those were two of the main reasons I bought the E63 over the E55. I did not want to worry about the common E55 issues, and I liked the more aggressive look of the E63.

I love the torque of the 55, but the E63 transmission is much more engaging I feel. It has legit paddles and the shifts are nicer, while the E55 is more slanted towards being fully auto, as those buttons are not the same as the 63's.

As everyone mentioned, get that thing test driven and inspected. Additionally, try to obtain full service history records, go to a dealer and see if they can pull a warranty history report based on the VIN, run a carfax report, verify if the vehicle has ever been in an accident or repaired poorly (look and feel for overspray, visually detect realy bad orange peel, visually inconsistencies within the paint, make sure all windows are oem and try to obtain a paint thickness gage), start the engine cold and hot and observe for any rattles, test drive the vehicle cold, and lastly research into a 3rd party vehicle service plan.
