What cooler is this?(pic)
The bottom cooler!
I thought it was the tranny cooler but my dealer says there is no big cooler on these. this one is a 04....I know the 03's dont have this cooler but I could be wrong.
can anyone tell me what the bottom cmaller cooler is in the pic?

It's the trans cooler, the oil cooler is the one with the fan. And yes that is 04's and up, 03's had the trans cooler built into the side of the radiator that leak coolant into trans... speaking of that - Hey Shardul - you get your car back yet for the cooler project?

I followed the lines on mine and it's apparently a secondary oil cooler ( there is the one with the fan and this one on the bottom...but they both seemed to be connected in series ). It also seems that not all E55's have this. My transmission cooler is inside the radiator ( mines an 05 ).

Yeah, I had to remove my radiator because I broke mine by mistake and part of the removal was disconnecting the tranny oil lines.
