07 E63 ESP light is on

I did a 0 - 145 pull the other night.
Car was fine few days later when I back the car out I notice the light came on.
I turn off the ign and restart and all was good.
It is back on again.
Any ideas on a reset.
Could it be brake dust or anything silly....
Thanks.. Sunil

No ESP button does nothing

The car also feel lazy and stiffer ride.
I was able to tune it off once I stop/start the motor.

I think it's called the speed sensor. The car goes on another map something like a limp mode. That's prop why it feels sluggish. I have this same issue and I'm going to check it out once I get back in town.

On the 07+ (non-SBC)its probably a fautly steering angle sensor, built into the Steering column module(SCM)

update..

I had new OEM pads installed. 145 to 0 stops a few times did produced some dust and its been about 3 weeks between cleaning. I decided to pull the wheels and wash everything,120 miles later no ESP light.
I am hoping it was just dust on a sensor.

I floored it today to hit a gap in traffic and shortly after that I noticed the ESP was inoperative. I pulled over, turned the car off and restarted it and continued home without any issues, is this common?

Happened to my 07 E350 with like 35k miles or so. Fixed by dealer easily, speed sensor or something. Sold so can't comment past that.

Hasn't happened to my 07 E63 yet.

Hasn't happened to my 07 E63 yet.

Did it stay on all of the time, or was it intermittent?

It would turn on after backing out of the parking spot when I would turn the wheel all the way, I think it effected it, and that warning came on, esp inoperative.

I was confused, turned the car off, and on. nothing. Drove it like that to my quick destination off base when I was in San Diego.
On the way back after the car was off for at least an hour, it didn't light up. But the next morning backing out of my parking spot, it went off again, and i took it to the dealer then so that it would still be on, left it running to show the tech.

It was quite fun to be honest without ESP.

Came on again this morning on my way to work, anybody know roughly how much it costs to be repaired, and why does the suspension stiffen up?

So I called a few dealers today and they both said between $250-$500, does that sound right?

Took it in today and that's what it is. **** happens but it is a little disappointing that a car with 39k miles on it needs this replaced already. BTW, I'll be in OKC in a few weeks!

how much was the part? and do you have the PN?

I saw that error and like I said I clean the pads thinking that was it. So far I am good but if I can swap the sensor out and its cheap I will because it might come back again.
Did yours ride really stiff when the light was on?

My car ride like it was bolted to the chassis.

If I get the code again I will change it out. Post the PN they install hope its an update part since this is a common problem.

Car goes in Monday afternoon, they said it would take about 1.5 hours. Just picked up an aftermarket warranty which will cover it, total bill with diagnostic time was $480.

For anybody else with this issue, the part number is: 211 5450116

MSRP is $252 which but it can be had for about $195 online. Not sure if it's a DIY or not, but my car is back to normal. The sensor was a lot bigger than I imagined it would be and it looked brand new. I don't think this part is updated.
