Is it possible to turn of s/c on У55,
So i am having problems with my S/C and i think it will be gone very soon. There is a very bad sound coming from it if i exceed about 0.8-1.2K RPM. It is not a clutch - the clutch is relatively new and i know how it sounds. The sound comes from the s/c itself and is very not pleasing.
The idea is to try to turn the s/c off and see if the sound goes away. I know that there is a cable with a plug somewhere which gives it electric power to operate only i don't know where it is located. I would really appreciate if someone would explain verbally (well, literally) or show a picture which cable to plug out?
Or, maybe there is a fuse which i can take out?
Please, guys, help.

Take off the belt. It requires a 17mm wrench - not exactly an exotic tool. There is a photo documentary here somewhere showing exactly how to change the belts on a 55K.

Seriously, if you have no idea how to take the belt off, simply step away from the car and call the dealer or your mechanic. I fear you will just mess something up more. Its seriously a 10 second job.

Well, i haven't changed the belt before on that car.
I've found that instruction post here about replacing the belt and now i agree - yes, it is a 10 second job.
Simply removing a plug from S/C or the clutch seemed easier.

No idea which plug that would be though bro. OH there is a plug that engages to the magnet to the supercharger clutch. You'll pull and ESP warning but supercharger would be off for sure.
Search around for that plug for the supercharger clutch.

Ok, I took off the belt and it really was a 10 second job. My previous and only experience in taking off belts is about 10 years old and it was a Russian car. There it is not a 10 second job. If you take it off within 10 minutes, I think that would break some records.
The car doesn't produce any noise anymore. Yesterday when I was riding home it was squealing so bad. It even started smelling.
Now car operates in a very strange way. ESP error pops up sometimes. But it operates and reacts to gas pedal very differently from how it does when u get IATs too high. It's now a lot more slower.

If it was squeeling you could just need a new belt. MB says to change at 40K miles, but mine was darn noisy at 30K miles. Just worn out by getting cooked in all the underhood heat produced by the 55K engine.
While you have the belt off, spin the tensioner, idler, and supercharger pullies by hand. Make sure they are smooth and have at most just a little play. Let us know what you find.

I will try to do that, thanks for an advise. I tried the following - i got my friend to listen to the internals of the car under the hood with the hood open. He said, that he felt a lot of vibrations coming from the right side of the super charger. I will try to check the belt, tensioner, clutch and pulleys. The belt is relatively new - only about 17K miles.
Of course, i don't know exactly what causes the problem, but i already started looking for a used S/C fof this engine. Found one on Ebay for about $2500. It was installed on SL55 before and has 20K miles of usage. Are those compatible with s/c used in my car (cls55 2005 actually)?
