Yeah, it'll never happen. But, they are available in 19 and 20 now. The SL runs 305's out back.

You are so lucky with the SL as you could run a 315 if you wanted to

Once I hear back from the wheels im trying to make fit our cars, you might aswell go 18s and run the setup Im going with.

we need R compound tires in the back and regular tires are a waste of money.
I'm honestly thinking about going with the Toyo R888's. They seem to be the only R-compound tires available in my size and I don't want to go back to 18's. It's either that or the Bridgestone RE11's which apparently are pretty sick. I've read in other forums people say that the Michelin PSS are average compared to the RE11's....that says a lot!

Hankook R-s3. Cost effective and stickier than a PS2. Not as sticky as a R888, but it will last much longer.

It doesn't come in a size that fits my car.

Kumho Ecsta XS is pretty sticky but they roar like a hurricane after half worn. It's what I have at the moment. Michelin Pilot Sport Cups stick when hot but are scary slippery when cold, pretty good for day to day. Yokohama AD 08's are wonderful on the street and curves. Straight line they left something to be desired. Michelin PS2's, didn't do too good. Those are the tires I've been through. I'm thinking you wont find a street tire that will handle your power. Heck I can't find one to handle my anemic SRT-6. The PSI that has worked best for me with street tires was 28 to 30 PSI. Less is worse as well as more.

I figured you'd have some experience in tire selection Les, considering how you beat on your anemic SRT6...lol. I'm surprised you state that the PS2's didn't do too good seeing as some people feel they are the tire of Gods...

Your Kumho were feathered pretty badly last time I saw them which would explain the tire noise...don't know how bad it is compared to other tires you've destroyed though.

I figured some might take exception to my impression of them. Let me expound a bit, they do everything well and nothing exceptional. So they are really good for all around usage. They were not the best for Solo or the 1/4 mile. The Kumho XS's are the best for lateral grip and 1/4 mile of the bunch but for day to day, pretty substandard. Noisy and slippery in the wet. The Yoko's are excellent in the wet, quiet and with a good ride, excellent turn in and good lateral grip. Straight line not so great. They loose grip as they get hot and as they wear the grip goes away.
The Pilot Sport Cups need to be warm before they stick. Comfy on the street but dangerous in the wet. No tire has lasted me 2000 miles so why buy $400 tires?

The feathering is from the flexing in the stock rubber bushings. Poly is in my future.

Les

I never tried them, but I know a guy with a C63 that puts down 11.3 with Hankook S03's.. Times are better than with DR's. Not sure on sizes though, but they are inexpensive.
