if your light is blinking and your dynamic seat not working [kicking in] replace your module thats on the back of the seat that all the lines go in
I wouldn't just do that without confirming the problem first. I had those symptoms and it was the pump and not what you describe. Checking the pump is easy and it appears that most of the time the check valve is melted and plainly visible.
I'm having the same issue with both seats. The dynamic light will stay on, but the pulse lights just blink and go off. I think the pump is either bad or there's a leak somewhere. Does anyone know the troubleshooting steps for these over-engineered seats? What must be done in the STAR diagnostics to test/reset the pump? Very frustrating...
Hello, I have the same problem did you find out how to re-activate the pump? and what is STAR.
Thanks for that but I have been told you need to pressurise/ commission the system the only possible way I can think of is that spare tube that seems to do nothing maybe you need to connect it to one of the output feeds comming from the pump to pressurise the tank above the pump but of course one of the pipes comming from the pump goes to the tank above anyway, any thoughts, kind regards Graham.
I have gluded the check valve back in ,when I activated the seat the lumber went hard but then de-flated ,thats why I think I need to pressurise the system.
^Just replugged everything in and mine has been fine for awhile. Star (Mercedes Diagonistic Software) will erase the codes but it is not need to intiate the pump on startup. I would suspect that you have something else going that is creating your symptoms.
Thanks for that, yes I have just found out you only have to star a new pump and as I have put the old one back after my gluing the plastic bit in it should work, on start up the pump works for about 3-5mins it does inflate the back rest but then the pump stops,I suspect the plastic cap pops out because there is a fault with the pump motor, maybe it pops out because there is a fault with the pump motor, looks like I need a new one but not at £583 so I am going to leave it for now, the part number is-000 828-42-48 any one know where I can get one cheeper in the UK.

Where the **** does this one hose goto? I've been looking for a good 30mins and it does NOT connect to anything, or does it?
Also on the black box, there seems to be another port but nothings connected to it. I dont think the loose hose would connect to that as its coming from the same source! lol
So this hose does NOT connect to anything? I've pulled my NAV drive and its mounting out and loosened the SAM unit to hunt for a nipple to connect the rubber hose to, but also find nothing to connect it to.
I am having an odd problem with my seats (both driver and passenger) as well. The problem seems to be intermittent - at times neither the dynamic or pulse switches will light up (nor will the functions work), other times the dynamic light will stay lit, but the dynamic function not work (and you can't turn off the lights), and then other times the seats function as they should. Based upon the situation, it appears to be an electrical gremlin. Thoughts ????
ill bring another old post to life...my seats don;t have a blinking light or noise from a pump...im thinking fuse, but did anyone figure out where it is??
I have a similar problem expect the internal pump hosing casing is melted or is leaking and is causing the pump to overheat. Tested with another pump and it works fine.
I ordered a new pump and found it has 4 smaller air connectors instead of the default 2. Went back to merc and was told I needed a hose kit and bracket to connect. Still waiting for the additional parts but can anyone confirm how do I connect it to my old 2 air connects?
With a leaky style old pump, two hoses, my seats work with a code clear for a minute or two. With the new style 4 colored line pump, the pump does not even appear to turn on. The active test will not work as 'pre conditions were not met'.
I can actively move the power connector to the old pump and it fires right up. This to me seems like something in STAR has to happen, but no one has indicated as such. I probably need to plow through the shady world of STAR tools , or find someone local, but not sure what this *activation* would even be.
