Talking dynamic seats, dynamic pump fix!

Finally solved this pos problem I've been having. Sort of a ghetto fix for now, beats spending $500 on a new dynamic pump.

Problem: The motor gets super hot, and melts **** in the housing. Sometimes I guess it can melt the hoses (as per recent members problems), it can melt the housing it self (my case), or melt off the power/ground wires going to the motor itself. The motor itself is solid, runs strong, the problem is the POS Mercedes plastic housing...

So I took apart the housing, and this is what I found... the house melted, one of the ports where the air exits, melted/broken hence air escaping. Also what the thing is in the center was melted/deformed and the lid popped off.

Solution:
1. Scenarios you make only need to replace hoses, wires etc and be lucky.
2. My ****ed up situation, the god damn port melted and broken. Temp fix... straighten it up, use crazy glue, put back in place, crazy glue the red hose to it aswell, so its somewhat sturdy. Who knows how long it will last, probably not so long as the heat will melt **** again.

BUT this for now has my seats working again! Dynamic works, pulse works, etc etc...

Thought I share

Oh the part number for this pump/housing 211 800 01 48. I wish somehow you could buy only the empty housing...

/end temp fix

Exactly what mine did. Glad you got it fixed, at least temporarily. I got mine from a wrecked car. You may even see if the pump is cross referenced among the different classes. I know the only difference for mine was it had 220 at the beginning. I got mine for $245 shipped with a one year warranty.

Definitely want to find a proper fix, but at least part of my worries are over knowing what the problem is haha.

Very cool, thanks for sharing. This gives me motivation to pull my trunk apart and see if mine has the same problem.

Tbal, did you ever solve the problem? I read your other thread, and I have the same problem. Dynamic button turns on, (says its on in the cluster), but hit the pulse button, and it flashes for a few seconds then turns off. I think it just drained my battery (car sat for 4 days and was dead)

I have a wagon, so not sure where all this crap is located in relation to the sedans. Thanks man.

I tried to turn on the passenger dynamic button (with no one sitting in the seat) and it wouldn't turn on. But I read that's normal?

Needs a new pump... couldnt justify spending $700 for a new one lol...

You are correct, passenger seat if empty it will not turn on, but flash and turn off..

Do you guys with the massaging seats notice they are weak as hell? I can barely feel them moving, should I have these looked at using my Chrysler warranty or is that normal?

They are covered under the Chrylser warranty. I had mine inspected and checked out...I had to pay $150 for it but thought I had something wrong.

Turns out the just suck.
