Do These Adjustable Links Look Right?

Hey guys I just got my adjustable links from a seller on ebay.

I took them to a local shop to get installed and they said it wasn't the right links?? They took a look at the fronts and said it was too long. Can anyone confirm this? At it's shortest length the front links are about 4.5 inches long. They look like this:

It's fine and to prove it here's a picture of the factory one which measures 4 7/16 inches. You can do the fronts yourself. PM me your email and I'll shoot you pictures of what mine look like. BTW, I bought these same links from the guy on ebay as did several others in here.

Those are the exact same ones I bought. Go slowly with the adjustments, a little goes a long way!

I have the same ones and posted a ebay link for them,Iv been running them for a little while now with no issues.I too was worried about them not having anything to hold them on but they havnt poped off yet.

I actually just lowered the car more the other night,I can pop them off now with out even looking and just stick my hands in there with a flat head and pop them off.

all you need to do for the fronts is jack the car up a bit to fit your hand in there.

Anyone have a DIY or instructions on how to do the rears? The instructions these links came with were the exact same instructions on how to do the fronts? Is that correct?

The rear is a *****:
  • Jack up rear of car (Jack stands)
  • Crawl under with flashlight in your mouth
  • Go to axle, and look up on drivers side just above the rear end housing
  • You will see the link directly above the housing, just off center to the drivers side
  • Pop off stock link
  • Adjust new link (see below)
  • Pop on new link
For the links: Longer is lower for the front, but shorter is lower for the rear. Take stock link and make the ajustable link a little shorter (-1/8") and see where that gets you. It usually takes a cople of tries to get the height right where you want it, as someone said: A little goes a long way. Putting the car on a lift makes life much easier!!!

Thanks for the instructions! Hope this isn't a dumb question but the links are not adjustable when they are on the car? I'd have to take out the links and adjust them then put them back on?

The are not while on as you can't twist the ball joint when it's attached.

It would be seriously difficult to adjust the rear while it's on.

You'd have to attach one side and adjust the other since the whole end rotates to lengthen or shorten the link. Just take the stock one off and match them, then make a small adjustment. I had to jack the car up twice before I got the height I wanted. It's still not perfect, but I haven't had the time to get back under there.

Good luck!

If the heims were L & R threaded (along with the threaded rod) you'd be able to make the adjustment without unbolting the ends.

The risk with that design is that if the jam nuts ever come loose you'll slowly lose your settings as the rod threads itself deeper into the heims. With some nyloc nuts (or a dab of Loc-Tite) the fine tuning adjustments would be quick and would not drift over time.

For those of you who did the install yourselves: Was it a pain adjusting the rear after your initial install? I want to tuck my tires or at least have them as low as badabings...any idea on how much shorter I need to adjust the rear link before I install them?

By the way since we're at it can someone post instructions for the front as well? Do you just pop off the front link?

The front is cake, they pop off easy. Just jump in and do it. Make sure you do the same amount of adjustment to each side though!

The rears I did 3 or 4 full rotations shorter than stock i think.
