I ordered a oil cooler from a wrecking yard in ontario and it came off a 08 e63 and looks like the engine oil cooler(square) but has tranny fluid in it. anyone know if I can make this one work at all? car is in the body shop till monday or so. I hope I can get it fitted on somehow.
Does anyone have a tranny oil cooler lying around?!

Tranny cooling core is located in the end tanks of the radiator.

On my 04 e55 it has a seperate tranny cooler in front of the H/E and the replacement e63 rad I got look like it is in fact built into the rad. Soooo maybe Ill just be using the 08 e63 rad/oil cooler and everything should work fine.
here is some type of oil cooler he sent me and it smell like tranny fluid

Here is the rad out of the 08 e63 witch looks like it has a tranny oil cooler built in.

Now here is my stock setup(with the small tranny cooler mounted on the bottom front.

that a engine oil cooler under the heat exchanger.
the radiator that you have will take care of your transmission cooler issue.

Man their is to many coolers! I thought the engine oil cooler was mounted on the rh frt with the little fan on it on front the of the RH wheel..... I always assumed that little cooler on the bottom was the tranny cooler. Well its back from the body shop monday so this should be fun!

That is definitely the trans cooler featured in the photo in black. I think that you can make this work, but first it needs to be fully flushed out to remove all tranny fluid. Unfortunately its too big to be mounted low, but can be mounted in front of the radiator top right.
