I decided to lower the 63 with the washer method and that took only 20 minutes to do so I tinted it with 45%.I had a little more time left so I decide to paint the grille with Plastidip to try it out and see if I like it or not.If I dont like it I can peel it off since it dries like latex rubber and removes in minutes.Anybody no where to get a black grille for the 07 63?

I wiped it clean with a old T-shirt and Q-tips and used rubbing alcohol to clean it.Then sprayed it a few times til all the chrome was gone. This stuff is great for testing.Lots use it as permemant but not me. Look at these videos and be amazed how well it goes on and how simple it comes off. No glue or residue. It will stay on long as you like if you choose to keep the look.

A tip for those who do this. If you were to paint on racing strips or large areas on the body please use a razor and let it glide along the tape line before peeling off the tape or it will lift on you. You dont have to apply pressure with the razor just enough to score it for it to peel off with out lifting.

I think few people did it but not sure how long will last specially in the front grill will chip out easier. Or instead of spraying 4 coats, go for 7 coats might last longer.....

anytime you get a nick or scratch just hit it with a quick spritz of the spray. It blends perfect.Easy touch up. I rather buy a black grille done already, but that is just me.

Home depot sells it.Its main use many years ago was to dip your pliers and tool alike into it to make new rubber handles. Now they make it into a spray can in many colors. I used alot on my grille, about 1/2 of a can. And if you dont like it just peel it off, leaves no residue.
