slight play in tensioner pulley
My tensioner pulley has a slight amount of play if I grab it firmly and try to move it side to side. Are the bearings wearing out or is a little play normal? I can't see any wobble at idle or reving.

Thanks, I just might be. I seem to recall reading about tensioners breaking off and raising havoc during the few seconds the engine continues to spin. I have a squeek at start up that goes away when the engine is warm. I think it is a pulley, maybe the tensionser, but with our noisy engines, I am having trouble nailing it down.

It's likely one of the idler or tensioner pulley's as Shardul has explained it to me. Mine squeaks a bit at startup from time to time as well. Though since I've received my pulley set from the man himself, I'm hoping it goes away after they are installed this weekend.

So the million dollar question is which bearing on which pulley. Is the tensioner the likely candidate? I was thinking about shooting it with a little silicone spray to see if the squeak disappears momentarily.

So i would spray all 3 pulleys with silicone. the bearing on the second pulley on the double idler assembly may be hard to get to.

Good question. Though I can't give you an answer, I've read here that most have problems with the idler pulley. I bought the three piece set to make life a little easier.

I am not so sure it is the tensioner pulley. Is it the same thing as the idler pulley or are they two separate thing?
I uploading a vid that might help
Sure do appreciate the help thus far guys.

So here are the vids. I cannot hear the squeak in it. I think the tensioner pulley is fine. It is something else squeaking. I do hear a thunking rattle sound that almost sounds like the beginning of a bearing failure to me.
