I love how people think you need to spend a fortune to fix something or you couldn't have done it correctly. That's some elitist crap! Just because you can't fix something yourself or you over paid someone else to do it doesn't mean it can't done be the OP. Now as far as the salvage title is concerned, it sucks but it is what it is assuming it ends up with a salvage title(who knows maybe the OP works at the DMV). Good luck with your project, I've always found them rewarding in the end.

What the OP and you forget as these cars were $90K plus when sold so treating it like an $11K fixer up is naive to say the least. I wouldn't want to learn the hard lesson at 19 that this car is going to be a money pit that'll swallow you up very quickly if you're not careful.

The OP can source existing eclass parts that are likely already factory painted the same color pretty affordably since they are a dime a dozen. Its a trunk, bumpers, and hood guys and who would purchase new parts for a salvage car. My wife hit a tree on mine so the front bumper, hood and right fender and light were mangled. Body shop wanted $6800 for it. I found original MB parts in my cars' color for $2400 that are flawless and pocketed the rest of the cash. The kid can do it if he is resourceful.
Alex - If you haven't done so, it looks like your radiator support is toast. Be sure to check to see that the fan shroud didn't hit the double idler pulley since that is a major weakness on these cars. Try these guys below buddy if you can't source the parts locally or from the board - You'll pay a bit more but you'll end up with parts that are in very good shape:
pgauto dot com (Potomac german in maryland)
tristarparts dot com (Tristar parts in arizona)
If your light is a halogen, I'm pretty sure I have a right side that you can have. Just pay shipping and its yours. I might have an ok grill too. Consider it a gift for being part of the family. PM me and I'll see what I got.
Good luck - Ali

I think you def. bought the car right. I'm in the car business and also we have our own body shop, if you do things right to fix the damages on your car you might even be under $5,000. The biggest issues that are going to come is from the damage caused under neath the cosmetic pieces on the car. If I was you I would take slow steps and find the right parts for the right money, especially on this forum. An E63 conversion would be the best choice since a lot of the E55 guys are doing it, this may be something you do not want now but later on down the road you will regret not updating to the E63 front and rear. I have a guy in our shop that will paint after hours and blend for $150 a panel for people that either know him personally or work with him, he is the best guy we have and works on all makes and models and has great attention to detail. If you can get hooked up somewhere in your are I think that up to $200 a panel should be a great price with blending. Make sure you get the Paint the right way pay the extra to get the best possbile mix out there (after all this is a high quality car) You will not find a E55 AMG with 48K for $16500 anywhere. I bet that if you decide to sell it even with a rebuilt title and do the work right you can even make a bit on this car.

If you shop around, and get deals on parts, this should not be too expensive to fix....
PM me, I am in Sacramento, and have a friend that might be able to get you a deal on some of the parts you need.

This thread is great OP overpayed for a dead E55 11.5k! That car is not worth more than 9.
He could have gotten a clean E55 for 17-19k
Instead he choose to go the dumb way. This reminds me of a local degenrate who bought a totaled F430 thinking he will fix it for 10k!. Cost of car 20K! Repair bill 53k! HAHA
That car is in storage still.
OP could have easily taken a loan and live easily instead to save like 1-2 grand tops he buys a totaled out pos, which prob has internal damage for sure(The car got hit from both sides)!!
Ti Dalboybe Sanya, the hell you even bought a E55 if you cant afford the maintenance or anything else. Should've stuck to your Infiniti.
Also a bit curious? how is the front bumper undamaged yet the hood looks like it got hit hard.

You should be able to put that back together pretty easily for under your total amount of $16,0000. The rear parts should be easier to find used than the front ones. It seems that the accelerator pedal is the one that gets most people in trouble, and the front end parts are the hardest to find because of that.
You are in luck with your car because it has not been disassembled by the insurance body shop. The one that I purchased was completely taken apart, and the parts were nowhere to be found.

Just a thought...
But another good idea might be to find someone that did the E63 conversion and hit them up to buy their parts from them. If that's not an option, maybe find someone that plans to do the conversion and make a deal to buy their parts from them...

Mr. OP, DO NOT listen to these hatred spewing animals. You will have a beauty of a car once you're done. By the time you turn around to sell it, the salvage title wont matter any more. Besides, who cares if you plan is to drive the car into the ground.
You made a fantastic purchase and I hope you enjoy every mile you put on her. Like the good guys said, you can get her back to picture ready condition for a great deal if you take your time and do your homework.
