OP, I got the car at 18 and since day 1 my insurance (the cheapest possible option w/ complete coverage that is) is running me 500 a month...

I'm not sure about your job situation or who's paying for what but just a heads up for what you should be prepared for...

Do not scare the KID . I do not know what kind of driving records you have but your premium is $6000.00 a year with cheapest option. You should look for another insurance company.
I have 18 years old son he has been driving since 16 drives 04 M3 and his premium is $1500 a year with full coverage.

Who's your provider???? I called most of the reputable places ie; travelers, statefarm, progressive, etc....

And out of all of them Geico was the cheapest....

That's with full coverage including medical for an uninsured driver hitting me.

If your telling me I can get the same from another carrier for under 2k annually then I'm all ears...

DAMNNN!!!! I'm 20, and I have Farmers I have full coverage with 10k PIP, with UM/UIM. and I pay $720.. But I have a bunch of discounts, and only 2 tickets for speeding on my record when I was 16 and the other one when I was 18.. You might want to check around.. Maybe try to merge your parents with your policy and add your parents car's as well.

My son attends Baylor university not too far from you. We drove to Waco from El Dorado hills last Month so he could have his car at school.
He loves the car I offer him to buy another car so my younger son could get his M3 but he refuse to give M3 to his brother. Now I am looking for a car for my younger son. any suggestion

That's awesome, I live in EDH as well. Do you have your cars worked on at the EDH MB Dealer?

Really? I was just in Waco visiting a few friends! I did not want to let my M3 go but I got an offer I could not refuse hahaha. I would say buy your younger son a E92 M3 . See what the older one would say.. If not I would say go for another E46 M3 they are going for a steal now.

I was gonna buy him E92 M3 but I do not like V8 or V10 from BMW.

I had 750I before and had few problems and my service guy told me to stick with straight 6 from BMW. This is my son's M

lol well, I've got an apartment and don't own anything else to "bundle" for insurance discounts...I'll check with Allstate though since coverage on all of your cars annually is less than my one so thanks for the info...I'm guessing all your cars have full coverage??

Love it! Nice work.

I did the same thing with an '82 528i bmw many years ago. Bought the car for $2800, salvage title, repaired it, and drove it for 4 years, and put 90k miles on it. I sold it for almost what I had in it.

Alex - If you haven't done so, it looks like your radiator support is toast. Be sure to check to see that the fan shroud didn't hit the double idler pulley since that is a major weakness on these cars. Try these guys below buddy if you can't source the parts locally or from the board - You'll pay a bit more but you'll end up with parts that are in very good shape:

pgauto dot com (Potomac german in maryland)
tristarparts dot com (Tristar parts in arizona)

If your light is a halogen, I'm pretty sure I have a right side that you can have. Just pay shipping and its yours. I might have an ok grill too. Consider it a gift for being part of the family. PM me and I'll see what I got.

Good luck - Ali
You're a cool guy
