Wife's late X-Mass Pres.
I bought this in the second week of Dec. but The Dealer decided that it needed a new tranny. Starmark payed for it so I waited. It has 49.5K miles. I didn't get the road tar off of it yet. Open shipping from Cali. The RF wheel is really bad for some reason. The sun came out of hiding for a couple hours so I had to take advantage of that. She loves it and was actually jumping up and down as the transport truck rolled up. Whew, I spent the last 4 weeks hearing her say that she really wanted a W126 something or other. She loves it and I am very happy. 3 AMGs at the house and there are only 2 of us.

moebisgold, what is a 2001 E55 Launch Edition? Never heard of that. Why would there be a LE version in the 3rd year of production?
Good question. I was told that it ws a LE by the people that I bought it from. I was also told that it was a 2000 by other folks that have seen it. All I have at this moment is the last registration and owners manual which say 2001. The remainder of the paper work is in the mail and I may get it tomorrow. Maybe that will help make sence of this. My gut feel is that you are right, that it is not a LE. I know nothing about LE's and I probably wrongly assumed that there was some form of launch edition every year and probably payed more than I should have because of my assumption.

moe, those sellers were blowing smoke. Don't know why they would lie about it. But congrats anyway and have fun with your ride(s).

Chill, Very Nice Ride. Are those HRE's? What are the sizes and offsets and tire sizes if other than OEM. Thanks.

235/35/19, 265/30/19 to be replaced with 245 and 275 or 285 rubber fairly soon. I picked them up in perfect condition for $2500 in Tampa from a dealer who had them on his SLK for 6 months.

lol
