Can battery control module failure cause batteries to drain??

2. replace trunk battery
3. replace volt reg.
4. replaced front relay
5. replaced BCM in trunk
I went through this. Took over 3 weekends to figure out and troubleshoot. After each step, i tested the voltage w/car off and car on. Would still get the codes.
In the end, after step 5, i didnt get "Convenience functions are disabled or the RED Battery icon". Luckily i have been fortunate since then.

Traced drain to about 180 milli amps, but if I completely disconnect the rear SAM module ( the extra terminal on the positive battery terminal clamp), drain drops to zero.
I haven't replaced the voltage regulator ( seeing 14+ volts at idle) and haven't replaced the BCM yet. the aux battery relay someone posted, where is that physically on the car, right next to the aux battery (which I just replaced) and the E500 part is interchangeable with the AMG W211 ?
pulled fuses one by one, it was the 40 amps sound system Audio gateway in trunk SAM, fuse # 6, I replaced the unit $70 I ended up with only 0.18 amp.
the unit is behind the trunk SAM left. SOLVED for good.
