Just did the TB mod and now I have a check engine light...
Just did the TB mod by grinding down the flapper rod, and now I have a check engine light and the ESP light in the warning light are came once. After this the car had no gas pedal response....so I shut her off, and let her sit for like 30 minutes with the battery disconneted. That took car of the ESP light and pedal response. This morning I went to class and when I got off the highway, it had a HUGE cam feel. NOT NORMAL!!! When I left class about 4 hours later it started up just fine and ran great...but the check engine light is on. I got home everything is cool, but when the wife started up the car, it idled at about 1400-1500rpm. It seemed to run just fine. I don't know what I did wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

If the reset didn't work, I can only assume you tweaked the rod a little, and the butterfly is either open too much or closed too much at idle. The ECU will go crazy trying to correct this. It sucks, but if you have done the reset per the instructions and that did not fix the issue, I think you may need to come up with another TB. If I remember, you also disconnected the battery?
Sorry you are having issues. I asked MAXBORE to do this to my 82mm, and the guy said the Bosch TB's are very finicky, and advised against it. I may still try it sometime, but I will do it on a spare TB just in case.
Good luck. You can probably get a stock TB here just by asking
Pretty helpful group on here.

P0507 DTC trouble code which refers to Idle Air Control (IAC) System RPM Higher Than Expected
I suppose vacuum leak could do this, but based in the code, I think the butterfly is open a tad too much.
I am not suggesting this, but I do things the old fashion way. I would open the TB with my hand all the way making sure there are no obstructions, and then close it all the way, putting a little extra pressure on the butterfly when I closed it. In other words, I would close it very slightly with brute force. I might even take a small hammer and piece of wood, and tap it just a little.
You may need a replacement TB anyway, so what can it hurt, Good luck!!

That's what I was looking at doing. Now the question is do I get a stock TB, or upgrade now.....Where are the vacum lines that you all keep saying to check? I've looked everywhere and can't see a line unhooked. Does anybody out here have a TB sitting around that they don't need??? Thanks for all your help guys.

Theres a rear line on the tb that connects to a hard tube in the very back. Also, theres the vaccum line off the y pipe that connects to the valve cover - it may have become dislodged in the process.
Or the vaccuum line against the firewall.

Checked all line and hard lines to S/C and all are connected. Going to buy a TB gasket and see if that is it.....here's to hoping. Thank you all, for all your help and support thus far.

I went threw this crap with my 82mm gt3 tb.check your tps% in drive with your foit on the brake.if its under 1.5% you will throw codes.what the ecu is trying to do is close the tb as much as it can to get its idle within a certain tps %.
I think I was at ..09 tps so the car was basically trying to close the tb 100%.
The car wants to see 2.7 in park and it will not throw codes down to around 1.5 ish so play with the blade and watch the throttle position sensor %

Okay....so here's where I'm at. I went and bought an OBDII ELM 327 from ebay and it works great with the Torque app. I know what codes I'm getting now. I've tried everything under the sun to fix my own F'ups.....which isn't working. I've looked at all my vacum lines and rest the TB......EVERYTHING. I've even talked with Bruce over at TT Motorsports. The codes I'm getting are:
P0106
P0505
P0507
I gues I'm at the point of getting a new TB from Sergs99m3...thanks by the way. Anybody got any other ideas, cause I'm fresh out. Other that bringing it to my indy.
Frustrated.
