I hate the human race!!

I went to buy milk and was in the store for a whole 10 minutes. When I come out I find myself with this!!!

OMG!! It went all the way down to the primer. It's the ONLY scratch my car has and it's HUGE!

Any recommendations? This pic was after I already sanded it down and polished it again. It's much better now that it was before but I know I can't get rid of it 100% without painting the car and pewter is hard to match.

Touch up paint from MBZ to fill the scratch and build it gradually to a level higher than the surrounding paint.

Let it dry completely, then colorsand to knock it down to match the rest of the paint. Buff out the color sanding scratches and polish it out.

Probably not "perfect" but a lot less noticeable than the primer color jumping out and grabbing your attention now.

That sucks.

That does suck. I know I am so careful where I park but it only takes one jerk to do something like that.

Sorry to hear, I have been using Dr Colorchip for years with great success. Here are some pics of my E63, this was on the driver's door. http://drcolorchip.com/

That sucks, man! I hate when that happens.

I have a pretty gnarly scratch on my right front fender. It looks like someone took a pointy metal object and applied pressure as they dragged it across the fender. There is no way that sh*t was on accident.

GL blending it in.

It was probably some hooligan kids who can't stand a person driving a nice car while they're on their skateboards. This is why I only park in CCTV monitored secure car parks, like you said, these days = NO TRUST

I am sorry to read this. Times are very tough for alot of people and even though the newest E55 is 5+years, they still look and present like a new $100,000 car which can evoke jealous thoughts potentially leading to situations like this.

For this very reason I am careful when I drive my car and where, and even though I am trying to not be paranoid and still enjoy it, you can never be too cautious.

That is going to be a tough fix and blend especially if your nail can feel the groove from the scratch but I like the Dr. Color Chip idea presented by Pushing Tin..worth a try.

Yeah, you can't ignore that scratch if it's into the primer.

Primer is pours and will absorb moisture and start the corrosion process. Even a "touch up" pen is better than doing nothing. I've heard that the front fenders are aluminum, but the doors might just be mild steel....not sure about that one.

Holy crap....they want $24 in shipping to PR. Are they crazy? That shouldn't be more than $12 to ship here...no way I'm getting it from them. It would come out to $64 for their basic kit.

Sorry to hear that but PR is expensive period. My company tried shipping a used car there to use for work but it would have been cheaper to buy a used car over there once you factor in the taxes and registration fees.

You are talking about a car....that's completely different. Shipping to PR, in 80% of the cases with regular sized items, is almost identical to the US when using usps. Even their flat rate boxes cost the same. No importation tax or fees is charged on shipped items either ( except for cars ). Once items start getting large though shipping does sky rocket.

Unfortunately this is going to get worse for us in the States as the media continues to cram the lie down the public throat, "If we just tax the rich (I know I know most of us laugh at that statement of calling us rich) we could easily reduce our 16 TRILLION dollars in debt"

Love my 55 like one of my kids, but if I was "rich" like I think rich is......I'd be rolling in a brand spanking new S65 with as much HP as money could buy. 1000hp would be the goal.

Sorry bout the damage buddy.

Hope this happens to the culprit after they work their a$$es off to buy something nice one day.

This is why I always park at the end of the lot somewhere and make sure that I park so no one parks next to me, it didn't have to be someone doing it on purpose, just one clumsy **** is enough getting out of the car next to yours and not giving a damn.
I was driving down the street once and some kids were throwing pennies at cars driving by, guess what? my rear quarter got hit and it nicked the paint, I decided to act like an adult and call the cops I could have just handled this myself but this would do me no good. After the cops showed I left with a report, didn't want to report it to the insurance because I don't want to ruin my carfax report, so I will just deal with it and one day get it fixed.

Nooooo, that sucks! I know your pain because its happened to me, too. I parked in the LAST isle of my local supermarket with NO one around me - I had a good 15 empty spaces all around me - and found a shopping cart next to my door with a nice little ding right in the freeking middle of my door!!! People do suck. Whats worse is that the market is in an expensive part of town... Maybe it was an employee or some bratty kids, IDK. They should offer up a taser alarm that will incapacitate whomever touches our cars - I'd pay anything for that - LOL. Sorry about your car, though.

http://www.amazon.com/Quixx-00070-US.../dp/B000UVUAFO

Once is done, few weeks later i couldn't even find the scratch myself.
I bought it in walmart and works really good.

lol all I can say is that I have used it multiple times on multiple cars. The kit will probably last you several years. I guess $65 is spendy, but what is that 3/4 of one tank of gas? It's going to cost a whole lot more to repaint it, and even then it might not match.
