AMG 80mm part number for everyone :)
#28
Im just afraid I ported the tb to much and will throw the tps codes for idle.
I already have a back up plan if those codes come up.Im going to cut a 81mm aluminum circle that will close up the gap in the tb a little more like the stcok one does.
The gap now is a little more open when the blade is closed so it will let more air in.
do you know what the heck those black plugs part numbers are for plugging up some of the holes in the plenum.
I lost one last night and Im super **** about that stuff lol.

its pretty simple and is all there if u search
3 TB's out there
1 is from the SL55 2003 (which vrp used, but needed work from what i gathered to port match inlet)
2: is from the SL55 2007 and is bolt on with the Y pipe+ inlet housing. All you have to do is swap the wiring harness wires around
3: is from the new 550 V8, lots of work needed as you also need to get parts from point 2 and then cut weld grind etc
which to get?
number 2 for ease of install and pretty straight forward. No issues what so ever
if your power hungry 3, but be prepared to work on it...unless you get the TTM kit then you save your self the hassle
why people are still lost in this debate over and over still baffles me

Here is the part number on throttle body: A 275 140 00 04 or the 2nd line A 275 141 06 25 Can't see the end of it on the black part with it installed so had to look here.
Here is the part number on my snout: A 113 140 0 9 12

The throttle body you have was reported to be from a S65.

Is TTM's kit plug n play without swapping anything? Just install and go?
What about Eurocharged? They have the 82mm kit that seems like it has everything that people are scrounging around to make work on their cars (e.g. the Y pipe/snout).
It seems like it's a hit or miss with these tb's, people seem confused/flustered, and yet tuners have kits for sale - are these kits 'complete' or they require piecing together to make them work properly (i.e no codes etc.)?

I can't imagine one of the "tuners" is going to sell a kit that isn't plug and play. The thing is people are trying to go to a bigger throttle body at a reasonable price by buying one from somewhere and then getting the other things needed (supercharger snout, etc) or making a plate to convert for the bigger throttle body and port out the stock snout.

To make a proper 82mm tb kit you need both the Y pipe and inlet from the 2007 sl55, but you need to port match the inlet and add a plate(drill /weld etc) to fit the 550 tb

throttle responce is about 5-10% sharper but the but dyno feels the same so far.
threw a idle to high code but that was proabaly from the oil vapor hose not plugged in.
My tps hits 0.4% after warmed up and in drive,I hope I dont throw the codes again like I did with the 82 gt3 tb.

Whatever we're tuning!
The TTM 82mm TB Kit only uses OEM MB parts and there is no need to swap any wires or anything. It is direct plug and play. PERIOD!! The kit is $2499 but is always offered to MB World members for $2250. We have seen at least 30whp with just the addition of the TTM 82mm TB Kit and picked up 47rwhp after a new tune on a Brabus K8 car(Ahmad0658). Ahmad's kit was before I was fully porting and polishing the TB housing too!
FYI The MB p/n A2751400004 that was referenced earlier in the thread was replaced by p/n A1131400104.

I am surprised that you still are jerking around with trying to create your own TB kit especially after the fiasco you had with your last one.

How about a Group Buy for your 82mm kit? Thoughts? I am sure there are TONS of members that would absolutely love a plug-n-play system and direct bolt on to the E55...
What you say Bruce?

I would of gone 82mm but that wont fit my airbox.
I have about 450 bucks into my setup and it fits in my airbox
300 shipped for an 80mm tb if anyone needs one,all you need is to find a used inlet if you have an airbox thats all you need.If stock setup you would need to find a y pipe.

lets start
gt3 tb with e55 tps sensor swapped on to it
that pos tb will throw codes with the e55 sensor on it.
All I need was a AMG 80mm and inlet, thats all since I have the arbox that it bolts up to.
I would of never had any issues if eurocharged just sent me an 82tb off a v8 550. Iwas there guinny pig and wasted 2 months trying to get that pos tb to work on my car.
took the blower off 3 times untill I gave up and returned everything.
Its not rocket science here
oem parts
inlet
TB
Ypipe
why did they send me a porsche TB ? who knows maybe they found a few dirt cheap.
alot of bs would of been avoided if they sent out oem mb parts for there early kits.

If you look @ your throttle body you will see 2 part #'s
OEM Mercedes-Benz and then OEM Bosch. The OEM Bosch part # cross references to a multitude of platforms where as the Mercedes-Benz part # helps the dealer rape you every time. There is nothing special about MB throttle bodies in comparison to the other platforms.
Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Audi , VW , Seat , Skoda , Porsche , Lamborghini & Ferrari all use Bosch as the OEM supplier for there throttle bodies.
FACT : Bosch has 4 families of DBW throttle bodies. OEM or not , your vehicle will run the same with a Bosch throttle body from a Porsche or Mercedes-Benz just like a Porsche will run the same with a Mercedes-Benz. That will not deviate regardless of what anyone posts on any online forum.
They mix and match the bodies to suite the needs of the OEM supplier but the actual internals , TPS connectors , wiring and such are all identical.
There are quite a few people running the 82mm Bosch unit (notice I said Bosch) from Audi/Porsche onto there MB using a Kleeman tune. If you were having idle issues then I would be looking at a vacuum leak or similar as a cause for a hunting idle.
Now as for sizing and telling the difference.
OEM Mercedes-Benz throttle bodies have the following to distinguish them:
- 75mm bolt spacing for the bottom 2 tabs and 60mm bolt spacing for the top 2 bolts. (trapezoidal bolt pattern)
- 80mm throttle plate or 82mm throttle plate depending on the model.
- Counter clockwise throttle plate rotation.
- 75mm bolt spacing through out - square bolt pattern
- 82mm throttle plate (no variation , they are all 82mm)
- clockwise throttle plate rotation - hence the reason all MB owners need to swap throttle pins or use an adapter harness.
I have read through this thread extensively and yes I wish I could post more here but I simply cant (as we all know what this kind of information does). If a moderator finds anything wrong with anything I have posted please send me a PM or email and I will edit it.
Thank You all.

The stock e55 works backwards to get the oil breather hose behind the blade where there is alot of vaccume at idle with the blade almost closed.
The problem with porsch and audi tb is some don't have a hole or some have the hole in the wrong spot.
The oem 550 82mm tb has the breather in the same spot as the stock e55.
After I tapped that line behind the blade like the stock setup my tps went to 2.7% idle just like stock and no more codes.
Its nothing secret about it.iv had about 10 people pm me about there bosch tbs throwing codes.
I swapped pins 1 and 4 and 2 and 3 on my amg tb.
Look at how the stock e55 is setup and you will see why you get an idle to high code.its because of the oil vapor hose that needs to be behind the blade at idle.if you give that hose air the idle goes up like crazzy.try unpluging it on a stock car and watch your 4k idle lol
