okay for the past 2 or 3 years there has been so many different part numbers for a true oem 80mm tb.
well here it is folks for the first time ever,a true AMG 80mm part number that has never been posted other than me trying to figure out what the heck tb it was.
GTR also posted about it once because he found one the same time I picked this one up.
its 79mm and I bored it out a little bit and made it fit air tight in my renntech air box with ease.
for everyone having codes from audi and gt3 tb its becasue those are 82mm threw the whole tb,this amg one gets smaller in the center so for about a half inch the TB is actually a little smaller than 80mm and Im sure MB did this for daily driving and not not throw idle codes.
I think this came off an early 2003 sl55 and again I have not seen this part number come up in any of the old threads.
here it is!!!! enjoy

And where'd you find that? I have one of the VRP one and can't find the part number anywhere. The only number I see is for the rubber thingy.
And nice job, thank you!

I can now see a 10 second pass in your future
you have to add a spillter on the hose that goes into the air box and tie the breather into it or tap this tb because it dosnt have a hole in it.
It might of been off a race setup mb did without the boost bypass valve under the supercharger.
and it also bolts right up to the bigger sc snout with no adapters needed for the holes,so your intake is going to fit perectly without adding any spacers in there

Good info! Thanks scratch.
Is this TB plug and play into stock y connector etc?

Wait a minute, are you sure it's a MB unit? Mine does have the nipple underneath for the PVC stuff, but your doesn't.
I bought 3 mercedes tb and didnt know if they were 80 or 82mm I have another 80 oem mercedes sitting next to me with the hole but that one dosnt say AMG on it.
I heard you need to swap pins on that one.I will try the AMG one first and see how that runs and I dont think I need to swap the pins around on that one because it sits ecactly like stock setup.

By looking at the third picture you posted above, I can tell you that the above tb does not turn the same way as the stock 74 mm tb. Have you tried this particular tb on your car yet? If no check engine/ESP occur, then the wiring already switched.

Exploredoes anyone know the part number for the little black plug that plugs one of the holes in the inlet? its a black rubber plug.
I just lost mine in the dark forgetting that it was in one of the TBs and sent it flying down a ditch.

May also need 5&6 too. That's what I have to do on my Audi tb.

Probably yes. I have no idea why MB felt the need to glue the tb. In your case you probably have to cut the wires and re-soldering them back. Good luck mang.Originally Posted by skratch77

ok I cut the wires and got the car to idle ok but its a mickey mouse job because I dont have a spot tapped for the hole under the stock tb.
Here is where things get tricky,if you have a bigger tb and are throwing idle codes its probably becasue of this plug.
Now I know why our cars have the blade working the other way from all the bigger tb's.on the stock tb the hole is behind the blade where there is a lot of vaccume from the supercharger. If you tap the new tb and make the hole in the same spot the pulg will not see the same vaccume becasue with the new tbs working the opposite way the hole you just tapped will be on the open side of the blade where its almost like the plug is not even plugged in.
when the car is idling the blade is at 2.7 % so litterally the blade is closed and the hole where that hose goes is seeing all the vaccume from the blower side.
now I know why we have those spare holes on the sc snout,if you plug that hose into the sc snout the car will idle like stock and shouldnt throw any codes.
can someone post a picture of the stock plenum.I want to see how many plugs it has compared to the sl55 one.

Can you explain more about the splitter part? I can see that your TB similar to mine, without extra port the stock has.Originally Posted by skratch77

Can you please post more pic of the splitter and how you connect the hoses? It would be so much appreciated.
here is my stock E55 tb and my new 80mm one.
under it there is a hole and the hole is behind the blade.I cant tap the new tb in the same spot since the hole will be infront of the blade.these are the way the car idles and the blade is where its supposed to be.
there is 2 hoses that tee into one that plug into the stock tb.You need to plug those into the tb or a spot on the plenum.

I could have gave a part number off my 80mm throttle body if I knew someone needed/wanted it. I have the whole supercharger and throttle body off an SL55 which had the 80mm stock. And I measured it and it is actually 78mm inside even though people call it a 80mm.

do you still have it?whats the part number and did it have the hole in the tb for the hose?Originally Posted by urbamworm

Ok, thanx for the photos.. So the hose that should go into the stock TB hole and that is not available on the modified TB should be connected using T part to the Y pipe port (or snout that goes into the Y pipe) along with the breathing hose in the modified TB case?Originally Posted by skratch77

will this bolt up to the OEM place -- or do you need to pull the supercharger and get a new snout

Thwts what I was going to do until I looked at the stock tb.you need to plug that hose into the supercharger plenum or behind the blade in my picture not where I put the x.Originally Posted by ahmad0658

Adding a t to the y pipe was what I planned on doing before I saw that the stock hose gets plugged in after the blade.

You need the bigger inlet and even if it did bolt up you would have a bottle neck because the stock one is alot smaller.Originally Posted by guysandiego

i have the v12 na 2000-2001 tb on my C32 from 6-7 months without any code or issue, the tb is 80mm and 78mm inside, the part nb is 137 141 01 25, i didn't cut any wire, i just swap the wires inside the harness(1&4, 5&6).
it has the tube opening outside the blade, same position as Skratch77 mentioned (X) without any issue, this opening is not for vacuum, it is for oil vapor to get inside the engine, and you most need it at WOT where the tb is 100% opened and oil vapor can enter easily.
