New front rotors at 30K miles
I'd like to go with aftermaket bolt on items but does anyone have any experience with Pagid or EBC pads? I suspect they'd be harder on the rotors than the stock ones but have better braking and less brake dust. What about Brabus rotors? Are they worth it? I really don't want to fork over $3K for new brakes and would like to stick with the stock calipers.
Thanks
I couldn't find anybody else to make front replacement rotors for the E55s, unless I went to a big brake system, which meant changing calipers (3k minimum), but I'm happy with the braking system, so I didn't/couldn't replace entire system.
I'd recommend those EBCs if you don't mind a sweet spot for brake squeel, brake dust is noticeably lower, but it squeels at moderate braking (low speed), just brake a little harder or a little softer and noise goes away.
I hope this helps.

Tuning companys like Brabus, Renntech & Kleemann should invest in making replacement drilled rotors for E55, etc. instead of trying to sell $3k brake kits. I think they would have more customer willing to buy replacement rotors than expensive brake conversions.

I still think that aftermarket brake prods mfgs could produce cross drilled or sloted (or both) rotors for the same or little over OEM rotors.

Using aftermarket pads seems to wear them more than the OEM pads, so it may be worth checking for unusual wear with the EBC pads.
My W210 E55 went through two sets of rotors. They only seem to last for around 30,000Km's (24k miles).

After seeing 12 AMG cars (7 of them V8 Kompressors) at the Smythe Mercedes dealership, I asked about getting my order in early and they said "no problem". I'm going to probably put OEM brakes back on it and sell the W210 this fall.

Thanks for the tip, though. Tire Rack is a great resource.
